2023 SCVMC New Grad/Clinical Nurse I

Published

Hi everyone ?

I noticed that the only forums about SCVMC's (Santa Clara Valley Medical Center) new grad/clinical nurse I positions were from 2022, so I was hoping to start a new one for this year as interviews roll around and new positions become available.

was the offer letter from --------------------?

Nope, it was from HR. I believe she's the manager of PCU and I was hired on a different unit.

The offer letters were form the same people who contacted us for the interviews (-------------------------- etc)!

Did anyone hear from the burn unit?

Yes, but I had to actually call the unit to speak with the ANM who had originally called me because I had heard back since she had asked for my references

Has anybody heard from "HR"? I contacted my hiring manager again about onboarding and she told me that HR would be contacting me. When I still didn't hear back, I emailed HR, and they told me that my manager gives me the onboarding stuff and that HR does nothing.

Did anyone get the training schedule yet? I figure it is a normal mon-fri thing, but it would be nice to know hours for availability purposes.

The hours for didactic/classroom training are 7am-3:30pm, M-F, it is my understanding. Then, we need to follow our preceptor nurse during his/her schedule in somewhat alternating weeks. All are full time, 8 hrs. I have not received the training schedule.  I am to start 3/6/23 at PCU.

SWEET! Thank you! That is exactly the info needed. My manager told me the start date is 3/6 as well. I know we all go to the classes together.

Finally got a email about badge appts, etc. So stuff is happening now.

Update - this is the current training schedule for Critical Care Specialty training at VMC for those of you starting on 3/6 (week #1). The initial three days will include virtual meetings-in person optional and the links will be sent directly to us: image.thumb.png.9a3403da99eb66e2ffd146696c49252e.png

See you guys tomorrow!

Hi! Did anyone attend the NEO in person today? If so, how many people were in the classroom?
