Scripps New Grad Residency March/June 2017

Published

Hey all!

I thought I would start a thread for those of us who submitted an application for the Scripps New Grad Program for March/June 2017. It took me forever to find the application, it wouldn't allow me to search it on the jobsatscripps page. I did finally get it submitted around 9:30am CA time so hopefully I made the 500 app cut off.

Good luck everyone!

I also received an acceptance e-mail. My date or status on the portal didn't change though. The email seems individualized, they are probably sending them one by one. Good luck everyone!

For those of you that have received emails, were you external or internal applicants?

External

For those that received offers, can you post what unit you were offered

?

I just received an offer email about an hour ago, so they're still sending them out today :)

Nice! Congrats. What location is yours for? I will be at the La Jolla location in Oncology.

Thank you & congrats to you too!! I will be at Mercy San Diego medical unit. (same facility that I interviewed with)

Congrats to everyone who received an interview and a job offer!! Does anyone have any advice to offer regarding your application, interviews, etc. for people who plan to apply again for the next cohort? Thank you!

In my personal circumstance, my application was pretty straight forward and basic. Where I guess my background differed from others was in that I had a previous career as a Marine Corps Officer where I retired right before going back to school for nursing. I did have a lot of leadership, management, and supervisory experience as a result. I also made sure that my application was submitted within the first hour of the posting for the position online. I had 95% of the application prepped and ready to go so I just had to upload documents and copy/paste answers to questions for the most part.

From the interview standpoint, since this wasn't my first rodeo, I feel that I have gotten pretty comfortable interviewing and speaking with people since it was a very important component of my last career. If you can go into the interview confident and displaying a calm, measured, and friendly demeanor, you should be good to go. I shared stories during my interview, laughed and made some small jokes or comedic comments where appropriate, and was also serious when I needed to be in order to convey my points. Hiring managers know that you are qualified if you are granted an interview so, during the interview, it is all about them seeing your personality and how you handle yourself under stress. Based on that, I would imagine that they determine if you are a good fit for their unit.

Hope this helps, just my 2 cents

Did anyone else get a call from Scripps yesterday about an offer to Scripps Green?
