Scripps New Grad Program

Published

Hi all!

Its that wonderful time again. Thought I would start this thread for any news from Scripps New Grad Program. Hopefully we hear good things back soon! Good luck to everyone!

Official rejection email. Sigh. Oh well on to more opportunities! Congrats to all those who were offered positions!

Just curious, did anyone getting an email saying you were alternate? I know they have done this in the past and was curious if people were selected as alternates.

I had called an HR representative last week and was told that I was an alternate but I received a rejection email as well.

has anyone else out there been rejected by scripps & get their degree in 2012? i got mine 12/12, and i felt like this was my last shot. i know hospitals out there have cut offs for grad dates. i just don't know what to do anymore.

They told you were an alternate but you received a rejection email also? That is so interesting. Are you going to call and ask HR if you are still an alternate?

This was my last shot as well Mellowyelloww. I graduated in April, however, I will have more than 6 months experience as a RN by the next round. I am in that hazy area where I have experience but not enough. My advice would be to apply out of state. I know thats not easy because I have been stubborn about it too, but it is a lot easier to get hired. If I don't get hired at Sharp, then time to say goodbye to San Diego/CA.

My last shot as well. I graduated last December and will have 6 months "experience" (I don't necessarily deem flu clinic RN as being tons of experience though) by the time the next program rolls around. Unfortunately my fiancé and I have to have that dreaded conversation about me moving back to Illinois to get experience and doing the long distance thing.... Again. I'm so disheartened. At least if I go back to Illinois I'll be able to market my extensive list of certifications and volunteer work that I accumulated trying to get hired out here in CA :/

Best of luck everyone.

I don't know what to do either Mellowyelloww... I feel so defeated by this job market.

No alternate emails have gone out? geeze, time to start looking into other oppurtunities :/

Don't worry everyone. I currently have been working with Scripps for more than a year and got the rejection email as well. Stay positive and keep moving forward.

Hi fellow nurses, so I have been lurking on this thread since applying to the Scripps new grad program and have been too superstitious to post anything.. that is until today.. I got an offer yesterday from Scripps Encinitas! I will start off in the Acute Rehab then move to either the surgical or medical unit. Anyone else going to Encinitas that got accepted? Good luck to those still waiting to hear any news :-)

Yay!! I thought I'd be the only one at encinitas! Glad Im starting with someone!!

Hi, for those who have gotten offers, there isn't anything we can do for the "on-boarding" until we are emailed the official offer letters, right? I haven't sent anything in or filled anything out.
