Scripps Health New Grad Residency August/October 2023

Updated:   Published

Hi guys! Just wanted to start a post for the cohort for August/October 2023. Just curious if anyone would know the answer to this but it says on their FAQs PDF that there is only positions in units like med/surge or telemetry however during the application, there were choices like medical acute and surgical acute. Does anyone know if those units are hiring or not? And if we could apply to multiple units?

I am!! The exact same situation actually.  I went ahead and applied for the ICU transition; I don't believe they will rescind the Aug cohort offer. I have my call with the onboarding person Thursday, to schedule my physical etc, so I am going to ask her how it will work if I actually get an offer for the ICU pgm.

Either way, we will be colleagues on DEU or ICU?

Okay I'm curious can new grads apply to this? Or is it if you have some sort of ICU post grad  experience. I just graduated and take my NCLEX soon. Wasn't sure how that worked. Not sure if we had to go through the deu program then we can go into a speciality!

Specializes in Cardiac ICU.

@Malcolm225 I've read posts on here of new grads being accepted. It also says on the job posting that NGs will have an extended training period. So, Ig we'll c what happens...can't hurt to go for it imo!

Can you let me know what she says on the call? And I agree, works out either way:)

Specializes in BSN.

I've read that for NGs that complete their NG residency they can then extend and go into a transition program once they completed the program, so im assuming that would be Summer 2024 for those who have no RN experience/in the NGR program

For those who got an offer how much is the pay for BSN?

Did you find anything out about how this might work?

@asrn13 I completely forgot to ask ??‍♀️

I got hired at Scripps Encinitas for 2 south (med/surg) starting in October! Anybody else??

Also just passed the NCLEX on Friday!! Such a relief ?

Was anyone else given a number for their recruiter that brings them to a random operating service for Encinitas? Trying to get a hold of my recruiter but it seems like the number she gave was incorrect and she hasn't responded to my email that was sent over a week ago regarding onboarding lab work.
