Scott's English Success

Published

hello,

yes, i am still around. unfortunately i still have to struggle with the test.

i appreciate inputs on scott's english success.

anyone who took ielts in us has used scott's english success? i think that you need to speak american english when you take ielts in the us, however, scott's english test is in british english. probably scott's english success may be confusing when you prepare speaking part for a test in the us.

in summary, i think that scott's english success may be helpful for listening, reading, and writing, but may not for speaking.

thank you for sharing your experience and/or opinion with scott's english success.

It has not been an issue for any that have used that and taken the exam here in the US. They are passing.....

The IELTS is the same exam............just like NCLEX is the same, no matter where it is given.

And the Scott's program is based out of Australia, different from British English.

i took ielts and i think english is english, whenever u take the exam (suzanne already mention that). my examiner was australian, i think, and i could understand him prefectly, as he could me. i have an accent, but i still speak english.

in listening, writing and reading of ielts, british and american spellings are accepted.they will score u on how u understand the instructions, express urself, but not on the accent or knowledge.

i will still recommend the ses, they can not teach u the language, but they will teach u what to expect and how to menage ur time, which is very precious in ielts.

hope this helps.good luck

first, scotts english is in australian accent not a british one.

second, as elenova and suzanne have already told it does not make any difference as long as you speak a good english-no matter what accent you have. they can not expect an ameriacn/british/australian accent from a foreigner who is taking the english test as a second language.

i took the ses, took the ielts in usa and found that it was very good for all four sections and specially the speaking part because i was prepared for the exam day. i knew what to expect and how to answer that. ses mainly focuses on test taking strategies...and managing your time. the accent was not a concern for me.

thanks for all your input.

Specializes in geriatric nursing.

which module am i going to take? academic or general training?

is it enough to take the standard plan of scotts english success program? or better take the premium plan?

need some suggestions. thanks!

You need to take the academic branch with the speaking section to meet the requirements for US immigration as well as for other countries that require English exams.

Depends on how much help that you think that you need, hard to make that decision for someone when I am not aware of all of their skills.

Probably best suggestion would be to contact them and get their opinion on it.
