Thank you omarchggy! And yes, I received a call from the manager of the unit this morning. He said that HR will be contacting me to in the next couple of weeks for the next steps I have to do. I remember that the director said they would be calling people on Friday. But I wonder if that was only for the people that interviewed on Monday?

I just got a phone call from CTICU manager, she wanted to have second interview with me, so we scheduled a phone interview for next week. Hopefully it goes well, I really liked the hospital!

Good luck omarchggy! It really is a nice hospital.

Luisa2525, it was a pretty laid back interview. I was in a group of 5 other applicants and we went from manager to manager. Sort of like speed dating. lol Everybody I met was extremely nice and the unit seems very team oriented. The questions ranged from situational to telling them about yourself. I was a little tired by the time I got to the last person. I felt my answers were not as good as they were with the first couple of managers. Anyways, good luck with your interview and let me know if you have any more questions!

Hi everyone...I recently applied to Scott and White Hospital for a med-surg position. I just wanted to know how it's like working in the med-surg floors particularly the Observation unit at S&W Temple. I heard that they train you for 8 weeks before you are alone. Is that enough time for a new grad nurse? I also see that there is a high turn over of nurses in med surg units because of the nurse-patient ratio 1:6. Is this true? I just want to make sure that I get enough training before I work alone in a hospital..Any comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance! And good luck to all the applicants!

Hey karmen87

Have you heard anything about the m/s position?

I graduated may 15th and had my interview with BS&W/Temple that following Monday. My first official interview as a Graduate Nurse and I was terrified to say the least. It went really well though! Got an offer on the spot & heard from HR that same afternoon.

I'm so excited to start on June 29th! Well, I have to pass the nclex first! HR said that I need to take it no later than June 12th if I want to start in June.

Anyway, good luck to you and everyone else that's joining the BS&W family!

Oh, one more thing! I'm actually from Dallas & thinking about searching for a room on Craigslist! Lol maybe not a good idea but the 2 hour commute is not happening!
