Hey Lisa, it’s probably the lack of psych experience that played the biggest role in why you got denied. I’ve heard that it’s a very competitive program. I applied to UT Tyler in the past with a GPA of 4.0 but no psych experience, I didn’t get accepted. I am now in UT Arlington PMHNP program, they don’t require psych experience, but I do work in mental health now.

Yeah, I saw the course list. Nursing Theories, Nursing Research, and EBP classes seem unnecessary. They were part of the UTA RN-to-BSN. But I guess repetition is the mother of learning LOL

If full time takes 3 years to complete then it makes sense. UT Tyler PMHNP program is 9 hrs per semester and it’s 2 years long

Do you how many credits per semester? I am wondering if working full time would be feasible?

For some reason it’s not listed on the UTA official website. But like Shai said, when you Google it, there is a link to the UTA PMHP program page. It says it’s a hybrid program, mostly online with a few campus visits per semester

I applied last week. Other than the generic grad admission application and essay, were there any additional requirements? I got an auto reply that my application was received and that was it.
