  1. OK, thanks! Yes, I applied for Spring 2022. Congratulations btw:)
  2. CJEz, Hello, I have also applied to UTEPs PMHNP program. Had my interview today. How long did it take for you to hear back after your interview and how did they reach you? I am also interested in hearing about people’s experiences in the program. The PMHNP program at UTEP is fairly new. The first cohort started in 2020 so there is not much info out there.
  3. Hello, I am a psych nurse looking into PMHNP programs that I might want to apply to. Is there anyone here who has attended UTEPs PMHNP program or are currently in the program? If so I would love to hear about your experience and whether or not you would recommend it. Thank you in advance!
  4. Thanks TheOwalrus, I actually took a psych job a little over a month ago and love it! Yea, not much medical skills needed. There are a few patients who are receiving their maintenance blood pressure medications or diabetics who need insulin but procedure wise, nothing really. So far I don’t regret my decision. I’m much more happier in mental health. Psych has its own set of skills that I’m learning. So hopefully after about another year or so I will start looking to get into pmhnp program. Good luck getting into the ICU setting. The good thing about nursing is there are so many specialties. There is something for everyone.
  5. Hello all! I am a new grad who is working in the ICU. It is alright; however, I always felt I would end up in psych and eventually becoming a psychiatric NP. I just did not go directly into the psych field because many people had warned me it was best to get general bedside experience first. For those of you in psych who have come from a background in the ICU or other field outside of mental health did you feel that experience helped you at all? I would like to also hear from those who went on to receive the Pmhnp ? Thanks in advance
  6. Has anyone who was accepted to the GN program for Ben Taub starting in February received there formal offer letter and/or any further correspondence? I got a verbal offer weeks ago but haven’t heard much more yet.
  7. Just got an offer from Ben Taub!! Good luck everyone
  8. I interviewed for a ICU position. I called HR this morning and she said that we should hear something this week. They will be making phone calls for offers and sending emails to notify the people who had not been chosen.
  9. If L&D was where I wanted to work I would go with Woman’s Hospital because they specialize in obstetrics so you should get plenty of good experience. However, I don’t know much about their GN program. Good luck!
  10. Congrats! What unit, might I ask?
  11. Hi sucriss88, I am supposed to be starting the ADN program at Cyfair this fall. Can you tell me what your first semester was like in regards to schedule? We do not have our orientation until about a week before we start class so..kinda left in the dark right now. Any insite would be appreciated!
  12. Nurse2b1, I received an email on Monday from Cyfair saying to hold off on purchasing the CB LD28 tracker due to changes that they needed to implement and they would let us know when to proceed. So, I did not order my CB account yet. Did you receive this email? I assumed they were talking about the CB account in general or are they refering to a form within the account?
  13. Hello, does anyone know where Cyfair does their clinicals?
