  1. I'm in West Texas, the Midland/Odessa area. I'm just nervous about going with a less traditional program and finding work. Especially if my BSN is a problem getting into a good school. I'm looking at different schools now. Hopefully I can find a good one that'll take me soon. I'm ready to be helping people already! LOL
  2. Thanks for the info! I definitely feel like my GPA was an issue. I got my BSN through WGU, mostly because at the time I didn't plan on going any further, so my GPA for my BSN was 3.0 (it's a pass/fail program, so that's the only GPA you can leave the program with). I had a 3.62 in my associates program. I guess I really messed myself up there. I definitely never thought I'd go the PMHNP route, but with the lack of mental health care in my area and how I see mental health patients treated in the ER, I feel very passionate about helping those people. I don't know what to do from here.
  3. Thank you for the info. I feel like we get quite a bit of psych experience in the ER, but I know it's not psych specific. Ugh. Hopefully, I can get in somewhere. There just aren't a lot of psych facilities available in my area, which is part of the reason I want to become a PMHNP.
  4. I'm trying to get in touch with anyone that has been accepted to the PMHNP program at UT tyler to see what kind of students they are looking for. I don't have any Psych experience specifically, just ER. I haven't gotten an email or letter, but the site shows I've been denied. So, I would like to know what I need to change or do before applying again.
