No problem. My average was 3.6, NET score - 80%, ATI (Essex/Catonsville entrance exam) - 85%. I used the ATI practice test book to prepare and did not purchase any study materials for NET. I know at UMB, they play attention to your core science course grades and NET scores, but they also look at your essay and your past work experience. BTW, I had a community health background with in prior health experience.

It's natural to get freaked out during this time. Because you applied to a number of schools, I'm sure you'll get accepted to a couple of programs. If you don't mind me asking, if you get accepted to Catonsville, is it your 1st choice?

Hope I didn't overload you with info! Good luck!

Thanks for the info! I got a 84.1 on the TEAS with a 90 in reading. Problem is my GPA for catonsville is only a 3.03 but my GPA for UMB if I were to apply would be around a 3.38. At this point, if I get into Catonsville, I'll just go because my main concern is to become an RN as soon as possible. Ideally, I would like to go straight for the BSN but I already have a college degree (graduated in 08) but life has been pretty bad since then. Since, I'm not really qualified in a specefic career (I have a psychology degree) its been hard finding a legitimate full time job. So, right now I work part time at a meaningless, dead end job. The only good thing about it, is I'm able to take classes. So I just want to become an RN asap and then while I'm working, I coud make use of tuition reimbursement and get my BSN.

I think that's a great choice, especially in this economy!

1. How many schools did you apply to? 2

2. Which school was your number one choice? CCBC-Cationsville

3. Where were you accepted? Yes

4. Which school did you end up going to? I just started at CCBC in August. It's a blast!

Also, to honeydippeaches, I noticed you mentioned Coppin, and I just wanted to point out if you didn't know that they were below the Maryland passing requirement for the second year, and are on conditional approval from the BON. I don't know how that will affect the applications if their scores don't get better in the coming year. Just FYI. Good luck on applying, I had the same dilemma of an associates or going for a second Bachelor's, but I am loving CCBC Catonsville, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Hokies,

I've heard nothing but good things about the program at Catonsville! I got my post-card in the mail yesterday saying that I should hear back by late november. I'm super nervious because I only have a 3.03 GPA and an 84.1 on the TEAS with a 90 in reading. If you don't mind me asking, what were your scores?
