One of the nice things about working in a school

I was just sitting here thinking how I am in the countdown stages of the school year coming to a close- the excitement in the air among the kids and staff is palpable. Everything just feels a little lighter, a little more fun, slightly more relaxed. Yes, the kids are bouncing off the walls and the teachers have hit their wall, but overall, it is just a happy time. Then we get to all leave for some time and refresh, renew, and reset. I like that with the Fall comes excitement as well. I remember when I worked in the hospital, every day was the same, no matter the time of year. I only had my scheduled paid time off to look forward to. Anyway, just a random thought I had. I like that we get a do-over every school year :)

Also, people start ordering out lunch more.

I'm down with that.

I'm so excited! This will be my first summer that I'm not working f/t! I'm working camp, but it's 5 weeks for 4 hours a day. Plus, my daughter and her little friends all go to the camp, so it's easy-peasy. I am soooo ready. We still have about a month to go, though:(

I love Summer vacation!

Amen!!

I'll take the sameness of working in a hospital, etc if it comes with good health insurance and PAID time off. With all the school holidays, summer vacation, and a student that was absent almost 30 days this school year, I'm stuck with lots of free time but very little earnings. I'll be spending my summer looking for a better job.
