This is a great story about an observant school nurse. Hooray!
NJ School Nurse Helps Spot Leukemia Symptoms In Kindergartner
Translucent skin? Heh? Pardon my dumb, but I have horrible images in my head and google isn't yielding much in the way of image searches. What does she mean, translucent skin? The leg pain thing I know about. 3 kids I know personally who've been dx'd with leukemia their primary sx was leg pain. Hence leg pain FREAKS ME OUT. What's this skin stuff?

I'm thinking of skin that you can "see through". You can see many veins underneath. Thin skin.
Maybe?

OMG! I read the headline and thought "wow, she's good. She caught leukemia on an eye exam?" Ooopsss. Way to go school nurse. :)
