School won't let me take Anatomy and chemistry together

Published

I have 3 prereqs to take before applying to the LPN program. I'm taking 1 this Summer and since chemistry is not being offered in the Summer, I was hoping to take chemistry and A&P in the Fall. I tried registering for both but could not because chem is a prereq before I can take A&P. I will have to take chem in Fall and A&P in Spring 2017. This will set me back a year before I can enter the program.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

It is not a problem. Since the information that chem is a prerequisite is available online, in the college catalog, and probably on worksheets available from the nursing department, all students have the necessary information to plan their schedules accordingly. Best to check over everything else to make certain that you don't have any other outstanding prerequisites to prerequisites.

Take one in the summer?

Hi, unfortunately, Chem is not offered this Summer.

Try talking to the professors? Sometimes they (or someone higher up) can write off the restriction and allow you to take both classes together if you have good academic standing.

Look for other school that offers chem in summer, or school that offers ANP without chem. I took my pre req via three different schools.
