hi :D

so i think i may have asked this question before..my memory is a weee bit bad so i dont remember..

anywhoo.

i was wondering if there is a n y o n e on the forum here that is a current RN and attends college at the same time..

thats my plan after i finish nursing but im curious what the schedule would be like.

a nurse only works 2-3 days out the week. the other days i want to go to school.

anyone..anybody?

Specializes in Cardiac Telemetry, ED.

I'm not, but one of my co-workers just finished her Master's, and another one just finished pharmacy school, both while working as RNs.

I plan on doing it in the fall - going back for my masters in nursing education.

Plan on taking 2 classes a semester.

There are nurses at work that work full time, and attend school full time.

Its possible.

thanks girls

i hope its not to hectic..i wouldnt even be studying nursing though

fine arts would be my new major..

do you want to become a nurse practioner?

Specializes in Med Surg, Renal, Neuro ICU.

I work 20-30 hours a week and go to school, too. It's hard but manageable. I am fortunate that I have an extremely supportive family. They make my life easier by keeping busy when I need to study or write papers.

thanks lumpyloo:cool:

that sounds about like my life in a few years:stone

but its what i want..

are you going to a university? is your major still nursing??

Specializes in Pediatrics Only.

NO WAY!!

Lol, I admire those who are - but I dont want that responsibility.

I just want to teach clinicals - I love having students and letting them be hands on with new skills.. :)

LOL

oooh ok meghan..

yeah i know what you mean..

thats damn near a doctor

nope..to much stress

Specializes in ICU/CCU/MICU/SICU/CTICU.

Yep...... I worked full time once I got my ADN and went back for my BSN.......... have worked full time ever since...........and now I am in an MSN program and work 40+ hours a week. I am taking two classes this semester. Just had my midterms last week and made a B on both of them. Not my greatest.........but the week before midterms I worked almost 60 hours.

My kids are older, so that helps......... but I have had to buy some concealer to hide my dark circles under my eyes. Lots of late nights studying. One of the residents told me that I looked like he did when he was in med school........then he went and bought me a Starbucks......lol
