SCF Nursing Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone! I couldn't find a thread for those applying to the Associates in Nursing, Basic Program at the State College of Florida (SCF) for the Spring 2019 start term, so I decided to start one!

I have all 4 prereqs done and 3 of the 5 gen ed courses completed, for a total of 7 out of 9 completed courses.

4 Prereqs:

A&P I - B

A&P II - B

Math (Statistics) - A

Eng Comp I - A

Prereq GPA = 3.43

5 Gen Ed:

Human Growth and Dev - In Progress

Eng Comp II - A

Microbiology - A

General Psych - B

Humanities - N/A

Overall GPA (7/9 courses) = 3.54

I plan on applying to both campuses, but Venice will be my first choice.

What do everyone else's stats look like!?

I also attended an information session for this program, so if anyone has any questions, just ask. I will try to give you as much information as possible.

TTFN!

You got in?? To which campus ??

Didn't get in. But that's ok, because I was accepted to Keiser-Sarasota's BSN-Fast Track Program. I wish everyone the best of luck in your nursing program!

Is this a good nursing program? What's your tuition cost if you don't mind me asking. Thanks

Tuition is roughly $10k per semester. It's a private school. The BSN Fast Track is relatively new to the Sarasota campus, having started in 2016. But overall has good NCLEX passing rate and good job placement rate. It's an accelerated program, so it's 4 semesters, 4 months each (16 months total). You have to have at least 60 college credits or a Bachelor's, have a GPA of 3.0 and have completed all the prereqs. That can be found online.

Is there anyone who got into Bradenton that wanted to go to Venice ?

Specializes in LPN.

Congrats everyone!

Ebic123 Try to Suncoast and get your LPN then do the transition program. You will be in school about the same amount of time and it is pretty much an automatic acceptance. (:

I thought about that, but I've been in school working on my classes for the BSN for three year. I'm going to retake a class to up my GPA and apply to scf and fsw in the fall.

One of my friends talk to the lady that does the information sessions and she said that their cur off GPA in the fall is 3.4 and they want everyone to have all 9 of their classes done before you are accepted. The springs GPA cut off right now is 3.28 with all 9 classes done so if I up my GPA I should get into the fall.

Hello

Is anyone looking to buy Level I booms for SCF? I also have an old and new Med Surg book, I decided to use a different format. I have pictures, can talk about prices but the Med Surg book in New used once.
