SCF Nursing Fall 2018

Published

I will be applying to the nursing program this Fall 2018. Is there anyone who was accepted the last two semesters? If so, what was your prerequisite GPA and what campus did you apply/get accepted to?

If you are applying this same semester what is your GPA and have you completed all nine of the prerequisite courses?

I am trying to determine my chances on getting into this program feel free to leave any advice and comments :)

@BusyBeeStudent, We're in the same boat! 3.25 pre-req here/3.5 overall. Taking ENC 1102 Summer B, and I also took STA 2023 online and that was a terrible idea!

Does anyone know if they accept Humanities B as part of the gen ed or only Humanities A.

I took HUM B, and am taking HUM A over the summer for the BSN gen-ed, but when I ran my CAPP, it didn't include my humanities B grade, so I'm not sure if it's going to count me as having 7/9 gen ed classes complete or 8/9. .... Guess I'll find out soon though!

Sorry @CNM for all of the alerts!!

Have any of you that are considering Keiser looked into HCC, SPC, or FSW? I'm thinking of applying to there and SCF again for the spring if I don't get in this semester.. All of those community colleges offer the RN program and have options for the BSN whether it's through their school or a USF partnership. Keiser is over $9,000 a semester.... thats the whole of the RN program, gen-ed included at the schools I mentioned! Obviously, someone else's finances are not my business (so sorry about my opinionated manner), but honestly, just looking out, because being $40k in debt from the get go for a $10k degree is insane, and just thought I'd throw out other options to those who may not get into SCF this semester.

I'm also applying to Hillsborough Community College's nursing program. I was actually a former nursing student in their program last year but had to withdraw due to personal reasons. Their program is really great, I have former classmates who are in their summer session now and will be graduating this upcoming December. They offer a BSN concurrent program with USF that starts the second semester of the program but those classes have to be paid out of pocket due to students not being able to receive financial aid from two schools at the same time. While I enjoyed HCC, my first choice is SCF due to their NCLEX pass rates. I think HCC in in the low 80s for theirs. Two more days everyone!

Hang in there, everyone

So you guys...I was thinking. HCC's Fall 2018 Nursing Applicants currently have an FB group in which all potential students join for updates and such in regards to their program. I'm currently a part of their group and while I don't post often due to my busy schedule, many of the members post plenty of useful information and updates in regards to the nursing program. It's also another way for us to keep in touch. :) Would anyone be interested in joining a FB group for SCF Fall 2018 Nursing Applicants if I were to create one?

Which campus is the HCC nursing program at? We moved here in December so I'm still learning the area. I also completed one semester of nursing school in SC and had to withdraw when my husband got transferred here. Makes it so much more frustrating. I just want to get in to school and start again!

HCC has their nursing program available at the Dale Mabry, Plant City, and Southshore campuses. I believe Plant City and Dale Mabry both have a night/weekend option but I know Dale Mabry has it for sure. And I know, I'm so anxious to start again. It'll be time before we know it!

I would be interested in the FB group!

I would definitely be interested in a FB group. I've seen other SCF nursing classes that have created them where they share notes, ideas and ask questions throughout the program. Tomorrow is the big day OH MY 😳

Does anyone know what the admission process is? My application was sent and reviewed on 4/27. Would that mean that the department already looked at my application on that date or do they wait until after 5/16 to review all of the applicants all together?

It is not a first come, first serve process.
