SCF Nursing Fall 2018

Published

I will be applying to the nursing program this Fall 2018. Is there anyone who was accepted the last two semesters? If so, what was your prerequisite GPA and what campus did you apply/get accepted to?

If you are applying this same semester what is your GPA and have you completed all nine of the prerequisite courses?

I am trying to determine my chances on getting into this program feel free to leave any advice and comments :)

I just emailed the department and Ms. Julie Darner said that the admission priority is given to applicants who have completed the most classes by the application deadline and those with the highest GPA's. It seems like I most likely won't get in since my GPA is not competitive at all. The review committee meets tomorrow and will decide tomorrow.

Well, there goes my hope for possibly hearing something back a little early 😞, guess I can now stop checking my email every hour lol. Thank you for keeping us posted, good luck I hope you hear back with good news.

Yes, I got a 28. That was a stressful test!

Do you have any advice on the SLE test? I'm scheduled to take it tomorrow and I'm nervous since I will only get 8 minutes to take it.

But if you have finish all your classes you should be good you said people who have finish their classes and highest gpa some people applied and don't have most classses done so don't just give up just hope for tomorrow

And also I had a history I applied I think around May 1st and she emailed me a week ago that what happened so they review it once they get it

I am happy to of found this thread! I have a 3.7 pre req and a 3.86 overall for the nine courses. Also very nervous because of the high volume in applicants...I will be at work tomorrow when the emails are supposed to be sent out at 4pm. If accepted, does anyone know if we have to respond to the email within a certain time period? I hope to be joining Fall 2018 with all of you!

I made a GPA poll out of curiosity for the 4 prerequisites (Anatomy 1, 2, Math, and ENC 1101)

What is your PREREQUISITE G.P.A.? - Straw Poll

Everyone take this and let's see where it all stands because it's getting confusing on what the GPA's are for this many people.

It may give us an idea of what the average applicant GPA is. The front page of this thread says that it's been viewed almost 3,500 times so I'm sure there are a lot of people reading and not contributing to the conversation.

plus I'm killing time for my own sanity LOL

Also, it may give us an idea of what the average GPA is for the applicants because I'm sure there are a ton of people reading this but not joining the conversation. On the front page of this thread, it says that it has over 3k views!

Also, it may give us a better idea of what the average applicant GPA is.

The very first page of this thread says that this has been viewed almost 3,500 times so I'm sure there are a lot of people that applied to SCF that aren't contributing to the conversation.

@bubblegum21 - I took practice tests the day and morning before the test so I was prepared for the types of questions. I found that the math questions held me back since they take longer to answer, so I went in with the strategy to answer all the other questions first and then come back to the math ones. That way I knew I had the best chance of getting to answer as many "easier" questions as possible to gain more points. I then went back to the math ones after.

I took practice tests online the day before and found that I did pretty well on most of the questions but the math ones held me back as they took longer to complete. I went in with the strategy of completing all the other questions first and then go back to the math ones. That way I could earn as many points possible with easier questions. I then went through the math ones and when it was getting low on time I guessed at the last few. Figured it was better to answer and maybe get another point then to leave it blank!
