Hello to everyone..Can I ask anyone who is working with MOH saudi Arabia? Can I ask if they are offering a 1 year contract? Can you give me also an idea regarding their exam? Thank you in advance. Godbless!

Hi! Usually the contract is one year renewable, the exam is about 50 items, basic questions, I'm just waiting now for my departure date. Did you inquire in poea?

Hello. I live in the U.S.A but I am looking for a nursing job in Saudi. Can anyone tell me an agency that can help me get a job there? Thanks.

Hi alleys...How old are you? Are you 22 above? I also want to apply in Saudi but I'm 21 yrs old going 22 in November. Are they strict when it comes to age?

We ask that you do not use text messaging on the forums here, we have many from other countries and it makes it hard to follow.

Thanks for your understanding on this.

This thread is for those that are going thru a specific agreement between the Philippines and Saudi.

Suggest that you check out the International Forum, for threads that will be more beneficial to you. You can also use the search engine that we have here to get more specifics.

Hi there!

I just wanna know how safe it is to work there because I'm bit scared about the news I had heard recently. and also how long would it take to get my passport. Thanks in advance.

No male nurses are allowed in Saudi?! Is this true? My friend and I went to poea yesterday to pass the requirements. The lady there told me that they are not accepting male applicants for Saudi and according to her if a male has an experience, it'll be an advantage but not an assurance. She told me to try to go thru agencies. grrrr!... we're so disappointed!:banghead:

Hello to all who are planning to work in Saudi.

Just be sure if you go thru an agency, research that agency and try to look for someone who went thru that same agency that you are applying and ask them if everything that the agency said is really true. Also, expect that when that agency say that they already have the visas and that you'll be leaving in just a weeks, most of the time, it will probably take you 3 months before you can leave. I even had one medical exam that got expired last Jan. 08 because the agency told me to have my medical since I would be leaving soon. And yes for us male nurses, it would be a little frustrating to get a nursing job thru POEA. Our only chance in POEA is if you have 2 years experience in OR, ICU, ER. I could be wrong but I've been trying to apply to for Saudi for sometime now and I'm still here.

Good luck to all of us and I do wish things would turn out for the better for all of us nurses.

Never rely on a co-worker in this case; you always need to hear it directly from the source. Please be aware that more than likely you will have to pay for your fare home since you will be cancelling a contract and they are not responsible for returning you to your home country.

You signed a legally binding contract and will need to speak with the people that you are contracted to as well.

We also ask that you do not use text messaging here but proper grammar and punctuation to make it easier for other foreign nurses to be able to read what one has posted.

Hello, can anyone please give me an idea what happen to SRO office Why until now we don't have flight schedule? I finished my last evaluation last Feb, but until now I didn't hear anything from them. I'm so confused right now...I am afraid that my medical might be expired already because what I know it will last for only 3 months. Please can anyone give me an answer? I try to call SRO office several times but I'm not lucky because only the guard pick up the phone and he can't answer my question. Almost freak out.

Best thing that you could do is go directly to POEA M window 'cause the phones are not always answered there.

I understand your current contract is 1 year and you've been there for 2 months now, 10 months to go then you're done! Hold on!

Suzanne was right, speak to reliable persons, a liaison or HR department regarding your current situation.

My understanding of work contracts is that you can be subject to financial penalties if you choose to leave early. It could also be difficult to get a reference for a future job, sometimes moving elsewhere does not resolve a problem as you have to start again, getting used to a new position and dealing with the people around you.

I have worked with people who had worked in KSA. Most said it was a positive experience but very different to what they were used to. Most said they would go back.

I would suggest you think carefully about your current situation and try to look at any positive aspects of your job and location. Do not take any hasty decisions, think things carefully before you decide what you are going to do. I am aware that KSA is quiet restrictive as to what you can do and where you can go. It can be seen as an opportunity to learn about the culture and language and to enhance your nursing experience that will be an edge for you when you go back to your country.

I'll be working in KSA also, I'm just waiting for my flight schedule and this will be my first time. I admit I'm quite nervous but there's no turning back. I try to be optimistic as to what is waiting for me. I know life there would not be easy but I have to face and conquer it. Trust God, He will always be at your side.

Anyway, you are the captain of your life. The decision will still be yours. I wish you all the best.

Hi, I would suggest you better visit their office(SRO) and ask them personally. I think they are having a hard time on visa encoding that is what I heard. When I went there for my last evaluation there were some who just got their departure slip and like you they've been waiting for two months now. Follow-up your paper personally, they might overlook your documents.

I think they are not entertaining query on phone.
