Tweety hope your sleep tonight is better

Stars hope you had the dull day you wanted

Ado hope your trip goes smoothly

Dianah pumpkin chili does sound like a very fall appropriate recipe

Work was good yesterday, few moments of tension but most of the day was pretty quiet.  Was pretty quiet after work, mostly just exercise

Finally heard back from my BIL, we are going to a restaurant before my nephew's concert to celebrate my sister's birthday. Talked with dad again to move forward the time we're going to leave. Decided we will not meet for lunch today, since we'll have to leave in the afternoon now

Will not be doing bird watching today as I plan to help my church friend Denise with the pet blessing the church is doing today.  Prior to that will do some grocery shopping. Then in the afternoon will pick up dad and head out, the restaurant and the concert are about an hour from here

Going to be warmer today, up to about 80, although I think it's only in the 50s now

Good morning.

I too am intrigued by the pumpkin chili recipe. Now that the weather is cooling off, I feel more like cooking.

I took eldest ds to her procedure to get her port implanted. She has finished chemo and radiation, and will start immunotherapy for the next year. CT shows a shrinking tumor, so fingers crossed. She is still way too skinny, but that's a chronic problem for her.

When I got home yesterday I took the dogs for a walk, tripped on a curb, and face-planted on the sidewalk. That hurt. Luckily I had a kleenex in my pocket to hold to my nose, which was bleeding profusely. I have a skinned knee, bent glasses and a swollen/scraped nose. I am such a klutz.

I was hoping to see the Aurora Borealis last night, but cloud cover moved in. Perhaps tonight. I should go get my glasses adjusted, but I look a fright.

Good afternoon.

Joe, hope you have a good time with family.

J22, ouch!

Best friend called and told me his new car was in so I took him to go get it.  I stayed until I was sure it was a done deal and took a photo.  It's very nice but the circumstances of his being flooded and having to get a new car at some expense was not so nice.  He seemed very pleased.  It's fresh off the truck brand spanking new 2024 Corolla.

Another night of poor sleep getting up at 4:15 and staying up.  Finally went back to bed at 8:30 for an hour.

Am deciding whether or not to mow today.  It's hot out but needs to be done.

We're eyeballing another storm that is predicted to be a Cat 2 and we're in the cone of uncertainty.  Just a couple of days ago they were saying it was just going to be a rain event and today they singing a different toon.  Ugh...

Ouch, J22!

Tweety, a new car can be fun but the circumstances weren't ideal.

We were delayed in Phoenix over an hour due to fog in San Diego but should be on our way again soon.

Hey. I am barely awake, but I got Nannie up to eat her breakfast and meds. I had a hard time going to sleep last night, and after a couple of hours of tossing and turning, I took 1/2 Xanax.....and then conked out until 12:50 PM! More busy dreams, but no answers from them, since I don't remember any of it.

It will be in the mid-80's with 60% humidity, but no rain is predicted for this weekend. And 🙄😎, Nannie's weather report is the usual: "Boy, it sure is BRIGHT out there!"

Today's Nannie's 1/2 Lexapro looked to be a fat one! Fingers crossed that the Sandman weighs down her eyelids!  While Momo never constantly re-adjusts her sleeves the way Nannie is doing with hers right now, Momo is delicately cleaning her ankles and toes. It would be funny to see Nannie licking her paws, except you don't know where those 'paws' have been! Eeuuww!

I wish the dozing would commence!

I do have a few things on my to-do list, but maybe I can get away with the minimum, like the yogurt. some cut up fruit, and some paper towels, if not everyone has gone crazy hoarding them. Everyone on the news says that the shipping strike (now temporarily put off until mid January) should not be as bad as the last shipping hold-up we had before. And of course someone pointed out that the things "Made in America" won't be affected by the striking, so there is no need to hoard too much of anything! The rest of the stuff on my list can hold over until I feel like dealing with it.

But it is "More Coffee Please" time..... so, "I will away."..... as they used to say in Willie Shakespeare's day.

Hello all!

Joe, safe travels, hope the concert and meal and visit are all good! (no surprises)

Ado, good you are there safely.  Weather should be nice.

nursej22, Ooooooo, so sorry about your face plant!!  I'll bet you have some aches and pains today.  I hope you feel better soon.

No Stars, hoping for a productive day for you (sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeep, Nannie!).

Tweety, congrats to George with his new car!  We are anxiously watching forecasts for the next storm, for safety for all affected by Helene.

I couldn't get to sleep, till after 4 or 5 am.  Slept till 11.  Oh well.  LIstening to Zoom Sabbath School now, while dh feeds the felines.

Have a good day!

dianah, keep working your magic....Nannie has her eyes closed now, but she keeps opening them to squint outside. The reason for that is that she called my attention to something outside.....which is actually THERE and is not a hallucination!!  It is a 3 foot long, skinny King snake, laying on the patio, right along the bottom of the back door. She is tightening the pant legs around her ankles so it won't crawl up on her! I told her there is NO WAY that nice snake can get in the house....unless I were to go outside and pick it up....but I wouldn't do that, because snakes that are not used to being handled will sometimes whip their tails around and splatter you with GLOPS of their extremely foul-smelling effluvia and excrement! Anyway, all the snake is doing is enjoying a sun-bath. Maybe after its nap it will find a nice early supper of copperhead, which are also around, and which the King Snake particularly enjoys. They care not one whit about a poisonous snakes poison. I think it must be like a spicy seasoning sauce to King snakes! Mmmm, YUMMY!

No laundry to do, no dishes to wash. WOW!

SiL comes back tomorrow. Must be nice to remove yourself from your regular daily tasks and errands for 5 days. I say it "must be" because I, myself, haven't experienced it for a number of years. *sigh* This halo is making my scalp itchy!

Us too Tweety. Our 3rd Hurricane since we moved here early August. Here in "slocala".

My brother is fed up with living on the Gulf Coast but I doubt he's moving anywhere.

Gosh, Stars, I was just grumbling to myself about my forced removal from my daily routines. Not that I miss my daily grind, mind you, but I feel alone and out of my comfort zone.

I forgot to grab my hairbrush so I walked to a grocery store and bought one along with a "Mediterranean" snack tray -- little pitas, hummus, olives, feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, dried apricots, and a yogurt sauce.

There's a nice looking pool so after I've rested up a little I might go sit by it and read. I thought we had a group dinner tonight but I guess not. And I'm feeling kind of excluded from the group (like being 11 all over again). If I get an invite that's fine and if I don't, that's fine, too.

My comfort zone is alone!

That Mediterranean snack tray sounds de-LISH!

10:15 and Nannie is tucked away in bed, so I have "alone with Momo time" now.

Tawk which you'allz laydah!
