Joe, I bought a small, pre-made piña colada the other night and enjoyed it. And we finished up our bottle of coconut rum which was good in pineapple juice or pineapple-flavored sparkling water for a little less sweet drink.
We're making progress to be ready for the bug treatment. It is amazing how much schtuff can fit in a drawer or accumulate around the house. Hubs decided we were far enough along that he could go sailing today, taking advantage of the cooler temps (high of 88). Which means that soon I must get Gma up, take her to the bathroom, and give her breakfast. It also means that tomorrow he will be sore, "beat", exhausted and not want to do anything. We're planning to go to his friend's bday party this evening.
I've had good and bad pina coladas; I really dislike ones that are too sweet. I also tend to drink really yummy ones too fast. We had dinner at eldest ds and his wife's place last night. They made me a delicious gin and tonic, not too strong, but tart and refreshing. I know, some people say drinking gin is like drinking pine needles or turpentine , but I like it, in small amounts.
dh and I are going to see a movie this afternoon, either Oppenheimer or Indiana Jones. I downloaded an Oppenheimer biography on my e-reader. Before that, youngest ds and I are going to get pedicures. I really need to cut the grass, perhaps after the movie.
Not going to go to the library; I don't feel like doing anything at all. Both of my 'patients' are sleeping in their recliners. I am waiting for the battery in this laptop to recharge (it is plugged in, right now.) I am doing crossword puzzles and listening to the snoring. w00t!
Had some excitement last night, when hubby started to walk up the steps to the kitchen, and as he got to the 2nd step, he fell backwards, hit his head on the table (TV tray-type) beside my end of the sofa. The whole tray flipped up and over, dousing him with 12 oz pepsi and 1/2 cup of cold coffee, and also everything else that was on the tray went everywhere. But there was no blood, no broken bones. I told him to throw his slippers away, as they are loose and floppy. (and yes, he had also been drinking and maybe taken a Xanax.)
So Crappy Birthday to me. Maybe I shouldn't much care at this age, but, I kinda do.
Ballgame is on at 7:15 tonight,
Don't know if I will stop by here later or not.

Hang in there. We're listening. We hear you. You're grounded here, connected, cared about.
Happy birthday. Sometimes the many days of our lives feel heavy. I hope you feel just a tiny bit lighter after leaving some of it here for us.
❤️ You have made me feel WAY better, absolutely! Thank you so much! ?
Today I did crossword puzzles and waited for my laptop's battery to recharge. Glad I have it back in my lap. ?
It wasn't exactly a birthday activity ? but I cut hubby's insanely long, thick toenails which (I know) most likely haven't been a reason for him falling, but I was horrified when I noticed them. I used to work for a podiatrist, so I knew to be very careful cutting a diabetic's toenails. If he is going to try on some new shoes, the monster nails need NOT to affect the fit; it would be a waste of money. Next time he gets to go to a podiatrist!
For supper I heated 'them' beef pot pies for supper and I tried a frozen meal brand called "devour" (!) Chicken Cordon Bleu. It was okay. I just didn't want a pot pie. If 'someone' was a little more attentive and participatory, I wouldn't have had to make supper. I wonder if he has, in addition to alcoholism, early onset dementia. I think he should get an MRI since he most often hits his head hard when he falls. All the falls only prove he is hard-headed, but I still wonder what will 'take him out"....emphysema, COPD, another lung collapse, liver failure, kidneys, pancreas, or who knows what else. It's a heck of a thing to watch him age so fast and go downhill.
I am watching the news, then will turn over to the Braves game. Hubby has made a run to the ABC store again. OY! There were about 36+ empty little bottles on the bottom of the trash barrel. I don't know how long it took him to go through all of those, and I don't really want to know. SMH! But enough of that crap.
Game's going to start soon, so I'll sign off.
Thanks for lifting me up today....I needed that!

Hi Tweety
NJ22 that was a very long day
Stars getting away and going to the library sounds like a good idea
Was another pretty good day at work, not too busy, nothing unexpected
After work was quiet, stopped at the grocery store then came home and made a pina colada. Was a bit disappointed, not as good as in the restaurants, will stick to white Russians I think
Today I'll head over to the Arboretum for a bit, then this afternoon I'll drive to Indiana for my nephew's graduation party. Svengoolie has The Uninvited, which I will watch if I get home in time. Finally, he has one of the classic movies from the 40s
Will be the same as yesterday, mid 80s, rain should hold off
