Stars here's hoping that does the trick

NJ22 sounds like a productive day

Tweety glad no overtime this coming week

Ado that sounds like an interesting book

Hi Pravesh

Work was good yesterday, slow but not too slow.  And after work went well, the appetizers were easy to put together

Potluck was pretty busy, despite initially not a lot of people there.  Got a chance to talk to some new people as well as some people I had met previously

Did not sleep well, ate too much during the day and ate too much too late, resulting in bad reflux.  Had to sleep in the recliner for a bit until my stomach settled down.  Will have to be more careful in the future, lately I've been careless with my diet

The over 50 group is doing a nature walk later this morning, so I'll go to that after getting coffee and baking some muffins.  Then lunch with dad and a haircut

In the evening I'll bake the bread dough I prepared a while ago.  Will skip Svengoolie as the movie tonight is dull

Will get up to 70 today, although currently in the 40s

Good morning!

Hope you have a good day Joe.

Girl dog didn't let me sleep like I wanted to but slept well enough.  Not sure what I'll do today.  Going to yoga and perhaps some meal prep.

Have a great day!

Hello all!

I wasn't able to fall asleep till after 5 a.m., so a nap is on the schedule for today!  As is rain, starting around 5pm.  Not a heavy storm, but should get rain this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon.  Any amount helps.

Joe, cool that you got a good turnout for the potluck.  Too bad about the GERD, good it settled.

Tweety, enjoy your day off, kudos to you for doing the OT.

No Stars, I hope those greased wheels have begun turning and producing results!

Hello Ado and nursej22!  Hello Pravesh!

Have a good day!

Oooh, Nannie got SO grumpy with me last evening, like she used to with hubby! I found a pill on the floor and thought maybe that was the reason for her attitude, but I wasn't sure if it was dropped this morning or at another time. Didn't want to double dose her, so I didn't give it to her. But she was so unpleasant, I told her at 8:30 PM it was time for her to go to bed.

An hour later, after taking all my stuff upstairs, when I came back down to the den to get Momo, there's Nannie standing in her doorway, dressed, and with her bed made up. She said what are you doing? and I told her I was going upstairs to go to bed. I asked Aren't you going back to bed? and she informed me she was going to sit in the recliner. I said, Well, have a good time. I'll see you in the morning, and upstairs I went. Twenty minutes later, I peeked down into the den and she was not in her chair, and her bedroom door was shut, so I turned off the light and went back to bed.

SiL came over and has given Nannie a shower. She brought some Mag Citrate pills with her (from an earlier colonoscopy prep; the test was called off and rescheduled, so they had given her another prep kit) Nannie took two of those pills with her breakfast, which includes enough fluids to qualify as the amount she's supposed to take with them. Here's hoping again! She did have a LITTLE bit of stool both previous days. SiL doesn't think she has megacolon because SOME of the stool had come out. She still has stool up in her colon, but it isn't pushing at her rectum and almost protruding like it did before. Earlier I had been thinking of 'flaccid colon' but realized that if it was flaccid, it wouldn't hold anything in. So. I'm still waiting for a "mega-poop", and if it doesn't occur by Monday, we're calling the doctor! But, she isn't in pain, anyway, so that's something. I can't see Nannie tolerating a surgery for a colostomy; if that were to have to occur, it would be hospital and nursing home time. No sense in buying trouble by worrying about it now, though.

SiL is stripping the edges of the kitchen floor; she said she decided "IT" isn't going to win, SHE is! She ended up having to use the stripping fluid full strength on some spots, because diluting it as on the label, it did NUFFINK! But now it is giving up and she IS winning! I said NO MORE MOP'N'GLO ON THIS FLOOR!!

BiL has mowed the lawn. Naturally that made the neighbor get his lawn-mower out and start mowing his lawn. Well, it IS Saturday, so maybe that's it. I always say it's because he can't stand to have someone else's lawn look better than his lawn. Hubby used to refer to him as Mr. Perfect Yard.

Nannie has started up the shoes conversation again, because SiL put her tan shoes on her this morning, so Nannie needs to call our attention to them and tell us about the other shoes, which are purple. (like we didn't know!) And since she has on a very pink sweatshirt, and it matches her nail polish, she keeps saying, "Look! Look how well these match!" 🙄 Well, it's making her happy, and since she doesn't have (as my Mother used to say jokingly) "a very good remembery" due to the dementia, we just have to agree and smile (and roll our eyes at each other.). *sigh* Her attention span is less than 2 minutes, and sometimes it's only 30 seconds before she is telling us to look at her nails held against the sweatshirt. I know she can't help it, but it does get wearying.

SiL and BiL are going to a wedding this afternoon, and tomorrow there is the gathering for the family viewing of Nannie's SiL. But MY SiL assures me that Wednesday she is off, so I can be off Nannie duty. And boy do I ever need it!

MY gosh, I actually had a GOOD couple of good hours to myself this afternoon. Nannie was sleeping, so I went down to the shed and pulled out two boxes from the "Big Move" from Asheville to Nannie's in 2017. Sat in my room going through things I found: numerous cards, notes from hubby back in the days...ie, before he got lost in the vodka bottle. It was a nice reminder of what a good life we had some years ago. Also found pictures drawn by my niece and nephew when they were just pip-squeaks, Some letters, some notebook notes from when my Sister and I (and my dog, Moosie Cowboy) drove up to Maine and after a week, back to NC. Found a cardboard box with my collection of small odd, decorative and interesting boxes wrapped up in newspapers. Haven't gone through those yet, but it gives me some of MY stuff to put up on the shelves in my room now. I originally wanted to find the rooster figurine I gave my mother years ago, but it did not reveal itself to me today. But I've made a start, anyway. Honestly, it really was quite absorbing. I could go through all the boxes in the shed, things I have not seen for YEARS, and I could spend a long time blessedly alone doing so, and I would be happier than the proverbial clam!

When I came back downstairs from my room, Nannie was awake and said she was wondering where I was. Then she told me she didn't feel so good, but couldn't specify where or how, and denied she needed to go into the bathroom to have a BM.

{Stubborn Bowel Syndrome, no doubt.}

She doesn't want to eat supper yet (6 PM), and she can't decide from the choices she has, what she feels like eating. I'll give her another 1/2 hour and then go up to the kitchen and prepare something for her.

I hope that ALL of us have a good evening!

It was sunny, sunny, SUNNY today, and 75 degrees. We will be in the 80's over the next few days. I plan on doing some more box-diving tomorrow. 😊

Sunny day, all the way up to 60! I've been puttering outside. The fellow who is going to paint and power wash the house stopped by to show his employee what all needs doing. I started moving stuff off the front porch, but I'm not doing too much because I know dh won't like where I put stuff and move it yet again. I had some old slate tiles stacked up that I laid down in the greenhouse as a path. There are still 3 bicycles, a park bench and cast iron table and chair. Somebody stronger than me has to move the furniture type stuff. The dogs have been zooming in and out, and are now passed on on the love seat. dh is going to grill burgers for dinner. At least that is the plan. He has been planted in front of his lap top for the last 2 hours.

Did the taxes and realized why I was putting it off. Ouch. Oh well.

It was a beautiful sunny day. Twin A went with me to buy groceries and gas up the car.

Sounds as if everyone could use a good night's sleep so I wish that for all of us (and a big 💩 for Nannie)
