3 SATA Questions on nclex :(

Published

hi so i have a question. if you got only 3 SATA questions does it mean you did bad on the nclex rn exam? i got a lot of meds (which mostly i never heard about) and prioritization questions. 3 delegations 1 drag and drop and 1 exhibit. no calculations. :( the computer stopped at 77. by the way its my 2nd time taking the exam T_____T

SATA does not mean it was an indication of higher level questions. You could get zero and you could get an exam with every question SATA. I had 97 questions today. A lot of SATA, 2 EKG strips, 5 med calculations, some medication questions, 2 disaster plan questions, lots of psych questions, some OB questions, a lot of priority questions (who to see first), lots of what precaution should the patient be on, couple of pictures on how should the patient be positioned after a certain procedure, some nutrition questions. In 48 hours we shall find out (if your state participates in Quick results, mine does).

thanks for answering :) i hope we made it. which state did u apply for? mine is on nyc

Mine is Massachusetts. Every exam is made to be different so what I got I bet you didn't have. Good luck!

There's no reason to believe you did poorly. The format of the question doesn't have any relevance to the level of the question. All domains of knowledge must be tested, so once you demonstrate competency in an area it will be done asking you about that area. You will only see "more" of something you are weak in because, well....you are weak in it and might have to answer a few more questions to convince the computer you're ok :)

The State you test in, the city, also irrelevant. NCLEX is a national exam, so you'd have the same test regardless of where your chair happened to be located.

Good luck!

Do candidates have to know and answer all items in a test plan category correctly?Candidates do not need to answer all items in a particular test plan category correctly to pass the NCLEX. The NCLEX is a prelicensure assessment used to identify candidates that can demonstrate sufficient nursing ability to practice entry-level nursing. Pass/fail decisions on the NCLEX are based on global entry-level nursing competence, not by subtest areas.

Are you from NCSBN/PV? Just wondering. You're answering/responding to A LOT NCLEX questions.

No number of questions defines if you passed/failed the NCLEX. Everyone's exam is different. I wouldn't focus too much on types of questions you have gotten. Someone may have gotten 30 SATA's with 75 Q's and passed, while another one failed. You just won't know until you get your results. Good luck!!
