20+ SATA and fail?

Published

Anyone know of someone that had 20+ SATA questions and failed?

And there is nothing that is put out by the Board that states that SATA questions are of a higher level, there actually is no mention of that at all either.

Best of luck to you on your results.

well, it seems like satas as "high level questions" subject can be a long debate. i guess only pearson vue/nclex staffs may be able to tell what type of questions satas are, and if they are high level or not.

i agree with suzanne that satas may be a format of questions and that some people recently passed the nclex with 0-2 satas. however, on this forum there is an increasing evidence of people passing the boards with 75 questions and with 10-25 satas. i just read a posting of someone who failed her boards after getting 75 questions and 0 sata...

at the end of the day, whenever satas are just a "format of questions " or "high level questions" may bring unnecessary debates on this forum. the issue is that new graduates who are preparing for the nclex should be ready and prepare accordingly if they had to face satas questions. one may get or nor get satas questions!

no one knows for sure if satas are just a format or high level questions.

my opinion which is based on my personal experience, is that the more satas (10-25) you get on the nclex, the more chance you have to pass the boards with 75 questions.

again there is no scientific data that would back up my claim, but an increasing evidence of verifiable facts on this forum seem to agree with my reasoning. until someone proves me otherwise, i firmly stand with my claim that satas are high level questions.

I passed with 75 AND 2 SATAs.

what is SATA?

Select All That Apply question

I would like to state my experience. I have taken the Nclex 3 times. On my first attempt I got 20+ SATA, 6 or so meds, priority questions and 2 math. On my second attempt I got 2 SATA and many teaching questions, zero math and 20+meds. On my 3rd attempt I had 15+ SATA, 20+MEDS and many infection control, 1 drag and drop, mark with an X question, Priority questions and teaching and again I failed and a lot seemed high level. I know for sure priority questions are high level as are meds and infection control but if ALL SATA where high level than by theory if that were the case I would have passed and I did not. So it proves to show Suzanne is correct. SATA is a type of format question which could go either way High or Low level. It just depends what the question is asking.

That's my experience.

Cheers. Again I feel and I am sure most agree this forum is here to help eachother and exchange opinions. I would prefer to not interpret the responses to certain debates as Whos the Boss and Whos Right. Thats not what this site is intended for.

Thanks Suzanne.

Cubano30,

What helped me study was when I got a question right or wrong, I looked at the rational why i got the question right or wrong. I do not know your knowledge background so please so not take anything that I say the wrong way.

When I studied, I read about 300-400 questions a day for 1 1/2 months. Whenever I missed a question or got a question right just from guessing I wrote down the rational on why I got it wrong and any information that I did not know about. Every night before bed I would take 30 minutes and read my notes that I wrote down. This I believed helped my pass the NCLEX because I found questions that were on the NCLEX that I wrote down in my notes. Saunders was a good book when I was studying and I have heard that Suzanne is also good but I have no experience with that one. Which ever one you choose, Always look at the rational regardless if you got it right or wrong, because a lot of times (for me anyways) there was things in the rational that I did not know and helped me a great deal. I learned most of the infectious control measures from this website. There is a forum that had a great deal of information that helped me remember the infectious control. I cannot remember were it is on this website. Can anyone else help with me find this forum? I hope this helps a little and did not confuse you. Let me know if you need anything else.

i had 20 sata and 75 questions and passed. i really believe they do give us partial credit and are not telling us bc there is no way i could have gotten them right. im sure the board doesn't reveal everything to us about the test--just like how they do not reveal the pass/fail grading procedures.

ok wat is SATA?
