Sarcastic fairy visit???????

I was just wondering, did the sarcastic fairy visit the board or what. I have read a few threads that basically have turned mighty ugly within a few posts. I understand the tones of some of the posts are changing as well, but is there something I missed ?

I admit to being sarcastic when driven....I am human and not perfect, but I do try NEVER to be rude or insulting and I never name-call anyone!

Wow...thanks Heather...it's good to know there are others that grew up speaking Sarcasm too :p

I'm still playing catch-up on the threads so I haven't seen any good fights yet :o :devil:

I used to be a Past Master at Sarcastic Wit, when I was a kid.

One day, I tossed off yet another Incredibly Witty, Erudite, Sophisticated--you get the picture*sigh*---remark, and

the girl that it was directed at looked at me, so stunned and hurt, and it felt like a knife went through my chest.

I was shook. I went home and thought, "If that's power, I don't want it. Sarcasm is easy. Wisdom--love--compassion--they're hard." It was a real turning point in my life. I no longer felt the trap of being cool at the expense of another.

and for the life of me, i dunno what got me started on this.... :confused: sorry!

maybe it's because I've noticed a theme of not just sarcasm, but some posts are downright mean to the poster.....and really, it's sooooo unnecessary. Life is too short to waste it on vituperative.

PS I'm not referring to that traveller thread in this case. I'm referring to some of the political discussions. And Heather, you may be sarcastic, but you're not mean....
