San Jose State University (SJSU) Fall 2024 BSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I'm applying for Fall 2024 and haven't seen a forum for it. I hope we can share information with each other and also share our stats!

My Stats:

Big 8 GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 89.3 (2nd attempt)

Finished 3 Co-Reqs

200+ hours of hospital volunteering

Just wondering if I have a solid chance of getting admitted?

Hi guys,

What is the average TEAS to be accepted into the program and the GPA. Work experience or volunteer hours are necessary?

GPA I think is 3.3 or up and the TEAS they take the first two tries and it has to be 84% or higher. I saw somewhere saying 3.6 or higher is seen as competitive but not too sure. Work experience/volunteer hours aren't necessary to apply to the program but it's mostly used to increase your impaction scoring and it has to be at least 100 hours.

hi everyone!

I know it isn't April yet but has anyone gotten any updates from sjsu?

WOW Congrats! Are you going to accept their offer or are you waiting until other schools get back to you?

Same here. What program is your top choice? I already committed to EB as it's only a 20 min drive from me.

Nice. Congrats!!  Maybe we will be classmate haha. I am waiting for SF and SJ too. Do you think SJ is better or it is just closer to home? SF is nice because it is two yrs! But commuting will be a lot!!

I like SJ better because I have a lot of friends there, but SJ and EB are about equal distances from my house! SF is scary to me because it is condensed into four semesters, also I read in a post that they make students self learn patho or pharm I forgot.

I haven't hear any friends that went to SJ so IDK much about it. Is it better than EB? I know both are hard to get in. What are your friends experience from SJ?  They both are almost the same distance for me too.

I know!! I saw that and also their nursing courses that is in the web indicate that total units are 56 but I am not sure if that include preceptorship or not. But the total units for the program is 56units and EB I think is 68 or something because they have preceptorship for their last semester!

Hello!

I am currently feeling a little defeated as my stats do not seem very competitive, even though they meet the minimum requirements.

I have a 3.88 GPA.

Got an 85.3% on the TEAS on the 2nd try.

Have 100+ hours of volunteering at Kaiser.

I feel the same way, my TEAS score on the second try I got a 84.7 but I know that isn't competitive enough 😅
