San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) - RN program Cohort August 2024

Hi everyone, I summited my application last month (May 2024) for the next cohort that will take place in August. My GPA is 3.5 and my TEAS is 66% (Not high enough) . I'm really nervous and not sure if these scores are strong enough to get in. Share your thoughts.

How did you guys interviews go? Did you have to write the essay and all those stuff?

No essay required. I think my interview went well, they gave me good feedback throughout. I got a generic email saying to get my finances in order NOW in the event I'm offered a seat because you only have 24 hrs to accept your seat and the loan process can take a few days. I'm wondering if they send that to everyone or only those that they are interested in. Because that's crazy to expect everyone to do a hard pull on their credit without a guarantee of a seat. I tried calling today to ask but couldn't get through.

Also just completed the interview, everything went well and they seem very nice. Hoping for the best.

That's great that your interview went well, I wish you luck. Do you mind sharing your stats with us like GPA and TEAS score?

Hey, yeah my GPA is pretty poor. I think I applied with somewhere between a 2.8-3.0 based on if the calculate everything (commutative) or if they only look at the prerequisite required. As for my TEAS test I scored 90%

They only consider your GPA of the prerequisites required. That's a great TEAS score! Did you interview this week or last?

It went well, I feel like I answered their interview questions to the best of my ability. I only wish I knew how many people were actually interviewing since there's only like 30 or so seats

I also had my interview today. It looked like they were interviewing quite a few people today!
