Hello Everyone! Just starting a thread for San Joaquin Delta College RN program. Hope to hear from everyone applying! Does anyone know when the application period is going to be for fall 2023?

Yeah, I have no idea why it looks like that ? I'm hoping they fix it by the time they send out the email, bc I'm not sure why there are 3 lecture times. What does a typical schedule look like?

Is the program as hard and scary as everyone makes it? Any topics of study we should brush up on or know before we start the program?

The schedule for ADN1 looked like Tuesday/Wednesday clinicals (6:30-2:30), Thursday lecture (8:00-12:00) Monday skills (8:00 - 11:00). But this all depends.

I see. And is it 2 classes per semester or more? I see there are other nursadn classes, and I assume some of them are taken concurrently, like nursadn 1 and 2 for a semester. ADN 2 doesn't appear in the portal yet, but how would that schedule be?

No you take one class at a time. NURSADN1 is the first half of the semester and then NURSADN2 is the second half. The schedules for NUSADN1 and NURSADN2 are the same. The only difference is that NURSADN2 doesnt have any on-campus clinicals.

The professors are the best thing about this program, for the first semester at least. I came in this program with 0 medical experience and myself and others found Dameron to be the perfect hospital to get your first introduction. If you are more experienced you might find Dameron a little "boring" but trust me it has its days. But the best part about picking Dameron is having (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) as your clinical professor. He will make your experience much more comforting, fun, and motivating. He genuinely cares about your learning and there's no question you can ask him where he will give you a plain answer or make you feel dumb. When you take Medsurg1 in the 2nd half of the semester you will also have an advantage by being able to ask him lecture Qs while on the floor because he will give you patients with problems that you are learning in the lecture. Also be ready for him to come up to you and ask you Qs about your patients, he always looks to teach his students, but that doesn't mean you have to know or understand every single thing about them. I am speaking to the traditional students (Fastrack Students don't get to pick their site) I highly encourage to pick Dameron with (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) for the best learning experience.
