Has anyone applied for the program?

No preceptorship until your last Semester. I hope you guys have a wonderful fall Semester. I have been there and my exp. was wonderful..I am going into 2nd sem. for fall:nurse:..yeheeyyyy.

Another question for current students or students who were at today's orientation -

Do you recall how much the cost of textbooks/ATI testing supplies are?

The bookstore did not have the packets ready yet, which was a bummer for those of us who were trying to look for prices during today's orientation. In our info packet, there is a mention that the ATI packet is $488, but it is unclear to me somewhat if this includes the price of textbooks...Does this sound correct? I'm really, really hoping that the $488 refers to all of the textbooks and ATI materials, but perhaps it is wishful thinking.

Hi Everyone...I think for spring entrance we paid $133 for Ati but I believe that was for just our first semester. I thought our books with came closer to 600, as there were two bundles of books to buy...but I could be inflating just a bit. What ever it was it was A LOT! :uhoh3: and hard to come up with right after the holidays...(2 kids and many many nieces and nephews :heartbeat) So It maybe wishful thinking.....but hey then again maybe they cut back a bit...and don't forget about your pharm book too! I found that one online through other sources at a cheaper price, Yay!

I believe that it was mentioned in orientation were sold together with ATI package, but not 100% sure...I tried calling ATI directly to find out whether it woud be cheaper to purchase directly but they said that you needed to purchase thru school because I didnt have a specific code. As for the bookstore they also said they woud have package ready by early July.

I was wandering about skyscape nursing resources. Is it recommended or is it required for RN students. What platform do you think is the best. I am planning to buy an iphone soon but can't decide on version ??? Any suggestions.

They will go over all of that with you guys. You want to be careful with the phones because some of the facilities don't want camera phones on the floors. In our clinical group none of us used them so I am not too familiar with the options. I have thought about getting an older generation touch as it would be nice to have nclex questions to go through anytime I wanted. But I just haven't splurged for it yet! :p Sorry I am not much help with that!

A question for students already in the program...

For the ones who have skyscape, do you think it has helped and well worth the money? Does the IPOD touch work well or are the data phones better?

If you didn't get skyscape, do you wish you had or is it no big deal in your opinion?
