San Joaquin Delta ADN Spring 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Anyone who is applying for the Spring 2015 ADN program at San Joaquin Delta College care to share info with one another? A thread hasn't started yet and the application is set to be opening on September 2. Does anyone know the point range cutoff from last semester? I hope this is the last application I have to submit... Good luck to everyone!!!

Hi Clueless, I did not received any email from them but I download the student checklist and follow what they ask us to complete. We need to do a lot not only accept or decline step. The packet has all the due date and what we need to complete. Please prepare ASAP! Please click the pdf file on the left side and be prepared.

I live in San Jose and I have to move to Stockton to live in my brother house for study.

Hi Deralynn, how is your status? have you get in?

I found it! Thanks :)

Knowledge is power.

After logging in to see your application status, there is a link to the left of where it says to submit adn decision. The file name is ADN STUDENT INFORMATION PACKET.pdf. All information, deadlines, etc., are in that file.

Clueless, could you please post the name of the Facebook group you create for our class? I'd like to join it. I got in at Delta, too. Good luck to the alternates!

I hope to see everyone at orientation.

Logistcally, can anyone figure out how to get the two step TB tests done with the Thanksgiving holiday smack in the middle? My doctor's office is closed that entire week. The way I read it, I need the second test done, results read, form completed, and uploaded before December 8 but cannot have it done prior to November 21 (60 days before class start). The first test should be done one to three weeks prior to the second? Oh, the scheduling nightmare!

Thanhn, thanks for asking! Yes, I got in!

Also, thanks for the encouragement when I was having so many problems logging in. I am glad to see that you made it, too.

Does your brother know that you are moving in or are you going to surprise him when you show up with a suitcase? I don't live in Stockton, but my travel time is only about 30-45 minutes depending on how many tractors are on the roads into town. I'm sure you will learn your way around quickly. I look forward to meeting in person in a little over two weeks.

Sure! To find the Facebook group just search "SJDC Nursing Program class of 2016". I see what you mean with the immunization due date but if you read the actual document at the bottom of the packet that we have to have our doctor fill and and upload for immunizations it says under tv screening ," two ppd skin tests administered 7-31 days apart in the three months preceding entry into school". I think 3 months means we can start them now and you can get it read in a week :)

I plan on just making a Dr. Apt this week and having my GP do my physical and immunizations all at the same time. That way I can just bring in all the paperwork be done :)

Hello, I got in! I'm traveling from the east bay :/ I am so bummed about the immunization schedule. I had a ppd on 8/2014 and a flu shot last month. As far as I understand, I'm only required to get the 2nd ppd. They make this a nightmare for our healthcare providers. I hope kaiser will be able to do all that is required. Can't wait to meet you all. Good luck to the people who are waiting, please don't give up. It's taken me a long time to finally say I'm in!

Letty,

Page 24, under two step ppd

Two... skin tests administered 7-31 days apart in the three months preceding entry into the school.

If a student has not had a test within 12 months the two step method must be used which means that the first TST is adminstered and a second TST is administered within three weeks.

So, it looks like since I haven't had a TB test in the last 12 months I will be doing the two step method currently known around my house as The Scheduling Nightmare.

The only thing I would add is that at the bottom of page 5 it says in reference to the second test:

TB 2(TST no more than 60 days from first day of clinical)

To ease my mind, is there anywhere in the packet that it says to use the first day of class (Jan 20) as the first day of clinical when fulfilling the TB test requirements?

Hello,

The first day of clinical is 1/20 and that is also the first day we will need . Do we count the administer date or result date of the second ppd from the first day of class? I made an appointment for my 2nd ppd 11/21 to be read 11/24. Does anybody else have this concern?

Yes I'm just going to wait until orientation to make my apt
