  1. Previously, someone asked about alternates. I haven't heard any information about alternates, or what the point cut-off point was for acceptance. Sorry I could not be of more help. Maybe someone else knows?
  2. I have no information, but orientation is later this week. If I hear anything about alternates, etc., I will post the info for you.
  3. I received an email at my Delta student account this morning that clears up my earlier E*value questions. It also gives the correct class codes.
  4. Hm, but since things like tablets can Bluetooth and Wi-fi, and you can use call and text apps through them, I don't see the point in making a distinction. Do they check PDA's to make sure they don't have Bluetooth or Wi-fi capabilities? Do they even make those? I hadn't thought about this yet, but Black Friday sales would be the time to get one. I PMed and friend requested you on FB, Clueless. The name is Angela. Hopefully I didn't message some random person. If we can start PMing maybe we can figure out this FB page without cluttering up this message board.
  5. I'm a pencil and paper kind of gal, so I plan to use my phone and just get a bigger SD card.
  6. Facebook and their new privacy settings, who has time to figure that out? Anyway, I switched the group to public, hoping that might make it so you can search for it. My personal settings are private, though, so maybe that's the problem?
  7. Doing a Facebook search, I'm still not able to find your group. I started another one. It's a closed group called SJDC ADN Spring 2015 We can combine both groups later.
  8. I am not doing the skills class because of time constraints. I look forward to seeing you in person on the 20th. I plan to go to the uniform fitting that morning. If you are there, I will be the old, tall lady with brown hair and a dazed expression. I still can't believe I got in. And yes, when I called they returned my call within an hour and gave me the right code so I could register.
  9. Did anyone get the Student Handbook downloaded? The web address in our packet gives me a Not Found error. Between this and my problems with E*Value, I wonder if I contracted computer operator error disease.
  10. Letty, I called the Health Sciences Division Office to get the correct code for 2. I was told that the code in our packet is last semester's code. Someone must have forgotten to update it. Once I was in 2, then the 2L code worked. I know our packet says we aren't supposed to call, but Live Help wouldn't help. I was told by Live Help that nursing course codes are provided by the nursing department, and I should contact them directly. Emailing Health Sciences might have worked, but I didn't think of it until now. Since you are registered in 1L, and 2L has to be the same clinical site, your spot at your clinical site is locked in. I registered for St Jo's. You?
  11. dlr13, in the clinical requirements packet (that's the one with blue everywhere) on page 9 it says "Other Documents to Upload." That's where it says that you need your CPR Card (BLS for Health Care Providers - American Heart Association) submitted along with your proof of insurance by December 8. The immunizations/physical forms are due by December 8, on e*value, too. I can't figure out E*Value, though. Has anyone been to the e*value tracker site? On the student checklist (Appendix A, first box) it says before Nov 14 to do the background check. Then in bold, below, still in the November 14 box it says, "Instructions for uploading clinical health requirements to the E-Value Tracker are listed in the SJDC ADN Student Clinical Requirement packet." Are we supposed to have an E*value account by November 14? Reading the clinical requirement packet, it says on page 5, "you will be uploading evidence of your immunizations and..." etc., followed by the notation that "Directions for uploading to E*value are provided on the website." Okay, maybe I'm missing something because I didn't find any directions. I don't know where to find my login name or password. In Appendix B Program Requirements Information, at the bottom of page 4 it says that there is a a tutorial online with instructions. I don't see a tutorial link on that web page. Most importantly, it says "You will receive a login and password in a separate email to access Evalue." I haven't gotten an email. Has anyone?
  12. Wiz quiz=urinalysis (drug screen)
  13. dlr13, I didn't notice the acceptance deadline discrepency. I accepted already. I already registered for classes, too. A class code was listed incorrectly in my packet so I had to call to get the correct course number. I think the packet says TST administered within 60 days of first day of clinical. I assume that to mean the skin test is done within that 60 days and reading of test is 48-72 hours later. To be safe, I plan to have my second test given the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. My first test I plan to have done on Nov 18 and read right before orientation. I will wait for any immunizations until the 2nd TST. It will make time tight to get everything uploaded before Dec 8, but I would rather that over getting booted from the program because I don't have my immunization and screening sheet completed properly. Letty, the dates you plan to do your 2nd test (11/21 to be read 11/24) both are within that 60 day mark, barely, so it looks to me like that schedule will work. Thanks for confirming Jan 20 as the first day of clinical, Letty. I plan to get blood drawn for titers tomorrow. BLS class will be this Wenesday. I did my "wiz quiz" Friday. I haven't created my E Value Tracker account yet, though. Has anyone done this? Is anyone going to take the optional English 33a class? Also, stethoscope and penlight -- does anyone know what brands are the best/worst? Clueless, I haven't found your FB group yet. Lastly, I just wanted to draw everyone's attention to the fact that the packet says cash only for ordering the mandatory uniform B package. I need to go to the bank.
  14. Letty, Page 24, under two step ppd Two... skin tests administered 7-31 days apart in the three months preceding entry into the school. Page 6 If a student has not had a test within 12 months the two step method must be used which means that the first TST is adminstered and a second TST is administered within three weeks. So, it looks like since I haven't had a TB test in the last 12 months I will be doing the two step method currently known around my house as The Scheduling Nightmare. The only thing I would add is that at the bottom of page 5 it says in reference to the second test: TB 2(TST no more than 60 days from first day of clinical) To ease my mind, is there anywhere in the packet that it says to use the first day of class (Jan 20) as the first day of clinical when fulfilling the TB test requirements?
  15. Thanhn, thanks for asking! Yes, I got in! Also, thanks for the encouragement when I was having so many problems logging in. I am glad to see that you made it, too. Does your brother know that you are moving in or are you going to surprise him when you show up with a suitcase? I don't live in Stockton, but my travel time is only about 30-45 minutes depending on how many tractors are on the roads into town. I'm sure you will learn your way around quickly. I look forward to meeting in person in a little over two weeks.
