San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

U.S.A. Texas

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

So it's been confirmed. Only the 1st grade for pre-test and the post-test along with the medical term part are averaged in. So no need to torture yourself by retaking the post-tests until you make a 100.

And yes, we do ch 45. At least it looks easier than ch 29.

does anyone know if one fails say... the fundamentals class, or any class in the nursing program for that matter... if they get Kicked OUT of the program OR if they just have to retake that class while they are still IN the program??

From what I have heard you are allowed to fail one class and have to take it over but may end up waiting a whole year instead of a semester. I think it depends on the availability of that class. Now if you fail two RN classes you are then kicked out and cannot return for five years. This happened to someone I know, so :(. I think you are allowed to do the LVN though and then work your way back up.

Hooray! Thanks Melissa. I think you're right, sleep is easier than vitals : D

As a side note, the LVN program, despite being shorter, is NOT any easier than this. I have a friend going through one right now (in Ohio, not at San Jac) and he's cursing life much like I am. So don't think that it'll be any easier to do that.

Just have faith that you'll pass the rest of the exams in sterling fashion!

I didn't mean the LVN program is easier, I was saying if you fail the RN program that is your only option.

Well you could always try another college. It's not a guarantee that you'll get in (for some peculiar reason, failing out of one seems to follow a person from school to school).

I came off too harshly though : / I think what I was trying to get at was, if you want to be a nurse, find another school first. The worst that another RN program will tell you is no.

5 years? hmm. i'm just saying IF i did.. i mean, i bombed the fundamentals test. got a 65. i felt like i was seroiusly the only one and i was freakin out. i didnt know if i shoulda gotten out or what. i am trying to have faith that i will pass the class. it was the first test, so i dont know.

I think a lot of people did pretty average on that test. The class average (which is for everyone) was 74. That means half of everyone was under that, and the other half was above it. I wouldn't freak out unless I started making 40's : )

I wouldn't worry about dropping right now, I mean a 65 is not that far from a 70. I would wait until our next test to decide, its still kinda early. Unlike other nursing programs, San Jac takes a 70 as passing instead of 75. So yay!

Although the next test appears more difficult in that it covers 13 chs instead of 8. So much for sleeping...

Re-read Chapter 45 then : )

Ok so I just need 7 hrs of sleep. And we have 15 chs on the next exam instead of 13. I will be thankful if I make a B on that test.
