Anyone applying for the spring semester!!
Bmw 2alt, get ur list of shots required by ur school. Then u can get innoculations and titers from ur MD or rediclinic and most insurance will cover these with little or no out of pocket to you. If u don't have insurance, the local health dept care clinic for a minimum (Approx $10 each shot) to keep ur cost down. If I can answer any other questions, pls let me know. Start ur Hep B series early due to the amount of time it takes the antibodies to build in the immune system. Good luck to u. I know it's not easy, but it's worth it. Your shoulder just gets sore, but that passes.
I've also been hearing that I should wait to get my shots and that the hep B shots take a while, but why would they tell us to wait to get the shots if they know that it takes so long. Is there a rule that says once you've started your shots then You'll be able to start the program cause from what i understand the shots are for the clinicals. Will we just not be able to start clinicals until the shots are complete?? I guess i should be asking this in a nurses forum lol, but hopefully some of you have heard something from friends that have gone through this. Also another thing to add, the shots list from san jac, is it in the criteria packet or something?? I've also noticed that there haven't been a lot of posts on this thread. I hope all of you guys make it :) just one more month until we find out!!
I've applied, I heard that very few people applied & the deadline was extended. Does anyone know anyone that is already in/has been in the program? I hope it's not super disorganized, I'm afraid though. I'm having a hard time with 1 of this pre-reqs because the teacher kinda confuses me. Have you all completed the pre-reqs?
Good morning!
The sooner you get your Hep A, Hep B, Varicella & MMR Titers, the better!
The sooner you get your tdap vaccination (if it's
The sooner you get your TB Skin Test or Chest X-Ray, the better!
The sooner you get your American Heart Association CPR Certification for Health Care Providers, the better!
Thanks,
Tiffany Newby
I heard it because I'm taking my pre-reqs there right now. The deadline was Oct. 15 & people were still able to turn in apps after that. Maybe they don't want anyone to know what was going on, but it wasn't a rumor because plenty of my classmates did it. Anyways, no need to talk about it further since it obviously is no longer relevant. I'll find out more when I go to class tomorrow though.

You can get ur shots at ur doctor or rediclinic with insurance. No insurance, you can go to Health Dept. Clinic for $10.00 each shot. Good luck getting in to school. Just stay ahead of ur reading for class.
