Hi i wanted to start this thread for those who are going into the Spring 2018 ADN Program at San Jac Central. I would like to know Hesi score, Gpa, and total number for ranking.
Hesi 80%
GPA 4.0
Total score 17
jfskaggs88 you set the bar. I now know that 23 for San jac adn is it. The lady Ms. Jammer at San Jac Central said that two years ago the persons who had the higher total is the ones who set the bar for incoming students. I'm just praying that it's not that many people who land in the 20's I'm hoping that majority of the people have 18. My score is low compared to yours so I know you are getting in you and Brandon_Hare.
Niknik718!
I appreciate that for sure BUT I think we all have a good chance of getting in if your stats are good. 18 isn't bad at all. I think there are probably plenty of people who have gotten in with an 18 or lower. Brandon_Hare and I have been working on this "getting into nursing school" thing for a while. LOL. So we've had time to get an idea of what makes you competitive. I've retaken classes, the HESI, etc.
Brandon_Hare, did you take the new TEAS test? How was it? Ugh. I don't even want to go that route again. LOL. I feel like I am done taking entrance exams for a little bit. But we have to do what we have to do to get in right?!

I've taken the TEAS twice...once before the change then another after. I honestly couldn't tell a huge difference in the 2 tests. My score increased the second time, but that reflected the the amount I put into studying more than anything. My overall the second time was an 84%, which I wasn't too happy with, but I'm not taking it again. The HESI is by far the easier exam.
I turned in my application with a 25 on my rubric. Now there's all this Castle Branch paperwork to do, has anyone started theirs? Good luck to everyone!
Awesome stats! Yeah, I started working on mine already. You literally have to have everything in by the 09/01/17 which I initially thought there would be a little wig room on that. Except the physical and the Blue Card thing. That you do later I believe. I would recommend doing it ASAP. I have everything in except MMR. I went to get my titers checked and I was immune for everything but mumps so I had to start the whole thing over again.
And it's kind of expensive to get everything done. It would suck to go through all that and not be accepted. I was going to apply last semester but I decided to wait and boost my scores another semester with the hopes of only having to apply once lol
Unfortunately you're not telling me anything i don't already know. I have been denied 6 times overall to various schools and am applying to 8 nursing programs for Spring 2018. So far I've spent around $1500 on application fees, transcripts, testing, & titers.

Fortunately, if you get everything done quickly for San Jac at least you'll have everything ready to go when other nursing schools require it. It definitely does get expensive. I've thrown away so much money applying to nursing schools, taking tests, redoing classes, etc. But when we all get in it will be beyond worth it for sure.

Yep we are along the same path. I did re-apply to UT Health & UTA. For Spring I've added TWU, Texas A&M, Sam Houston, San Jacinto and Alvin.
