Hey everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for those who plan on applying to San Jac Central's ADN Program for Fall 2017. I know applications aren't being accepted yet, hopefully they'll post dates soon, it says "to be announced" on one protion of the website, and then it says Feb 2-April 2 on another portion.
As for me, I'm eager and ready, done with all prereqs and my Hesi. Here are my scores:
Comp I: C (Failed it years ago and retook recently and made an A)
Psychology: A
AP1: B
AP2: A
Micro: B
Overall GPA 3.22
Hesi A2 Exam: 89.6% overall, planning to retake the exam to see if I can do even better.
How did everyone do? Best of luck, hopefully we will be studying together come August!
I also plan to apply to Alvin but doubt I'll get in because they are so selective.
I've made a Facebook page for us. It's called San Jac Fall 2017 ADN if y'all would like to "like" it. May be easier to communicate that way! It's BRAND NEW so I haven't filled out any other info yet but will get to it shortly. I'll make it private so we can post personal info on there for those who would like to exchange info! I'll also post helpful links and any updated information about the program I get and it would be a good way to ask and answer questions. Occasional funny pictures also...
Thanks for getting on that, memesandmargaritas! Right now, I would love some insight into how you are all accomplishing the fingerprinting/Fast Pass stuff. I went to the site and had no luck finding the "online scheduling" in Texas as mentioned on the form provided with acceptance. I'm usually really good at navigating through stuff like this, but I'm utterly confused by the "blue card" and Fast Pass vs. receiving some email from BON? Any advice or insight is appreciated! :)
Hi! I got accepted to the program as well! Very excited to meet everyone this coming Monday :) I too am having trouble w the "fast pass" and haven't gotten an email from the BON or anything. My page that was attached to my email didn't even have a code on it! I was also confused about the physical part as well bc of the contradiction. Like someone else stated their "attention to detail" is a little lacking and it's definitely causing me some anxiety. Lol I'm going up to the school first thing in the morning to get some answers and will post on here what I find out!
Just a little silver lining. I know the paperwork and "details" are a bit concerning. However I went and looked at NCLEX pass rates for San Jac Central and they are ranked pretty high for the last 5 years running. So it seems that they are dedicated in getting nurses out of us all!!! See you future RNs Monday!!!
Sorry I forgot to ask in my other post : did any of you actually get a fast pass email or anything from the BON? I saw one person had gotten it done already but I was wondering if anyone else actually heard anything from them yet? It's so hard for me to just sit tight and wait for all of this information because I have heard horror stories about the BON taking forever to clear people. I just want to get the process started as fast as possible.
Thanks in advance for any information!!
Shelbirene13: I felt the exact same way! Today I called the nursing dept and spoke with Ira who informed me that the Fast Pass website is "overwhelmed" and therefor, no one can complete the fingerprinting process until after the orientation. I asked her to confirm that having this completed by Monday was then, not a requirement and wouldn't have us pushed out of the program or anything and she said, "No-you're in now! Just bring your ID, social security card and health insurance." I also asked about the email from BON that many of us are wondering about and she said that does not come until we've been cleared through the fingerprinting process, so don't expect that yet or worry about it.
I hope this helps and saves a couple of you a trip to campus tomorrow! :)

I've done the fingerprinting and got my blue card. I have everything done except for the physical and the passport pic. And now I'm thinking about this lab pack and these uniforms... OMG!!!!
