San Diego UCSD July new grad RN program

U.S.A. California

Published

I recently applied and sent my questionnaire back for the UCSD new grad program for July 2010. Has anyone done the same and heard back from them? I noticed they took off the job posting already.

Any info/tips/news/advice regarding the program and or the interview process? Thanks and good luck to all of us new grads :] (especially ones (like me) who graduated last year in may 2009 and are still looking for a job :[ )

Well we don't have an interview or jobs yet so my fingers are still crossed. From my understanding the email just informed us that the hiring managers just have a pile of applications and qualifications to go through now. Also, I'm wondering about the info I got about there only being 10 slots if that's true that means that each unit could only pick 1 or 2 New Grads that qualify and do well in their interview. Oh and the email was sent yesterday @ around 1:30/2pm. Keep your eyes open and your head up and God Bless you as well.

I have an interview on the UCSD Progressive Care Unit (New Grad) - anyone have any advice?

I applied to this unit as well got the email that my application was sent to the hiring managers. When did you receive a call informing you about an interview?

Hi Everyone!

I am new to the site and came across this posting! I also got an email from UCSD stating that my resume had been forwarded to the 6th floor Med Surg department for consideration. Has anyone who applied to this department heard back from them yet?

Thanks!!!

my application also got forwarded to 6th floor med/surg. still haven't heard anything. let me know if you do.

I think I got the email on Monday asking"those chosen to interview to email back with a preferred

Time on Wed. ,Thur, Fri between 1300-1500. They said decision would be made by

Next week

I got hired on Fri 21st for SICU at UCSD. They only hired 2 new grads and 2 experienced nurses on the floor. I heard that the other units (who are hiring a little later, so don't lose hope) are only hiring about those #s too. So 2-4 per unit. Oh and my unit was "forwarded 10." I'm not really sure why they are counting the experienced nurses into the new grad program. Maybe they only count as new employees, but go through the same training. Good luck everyone! And if the other new grad for SICU is out there, message me! :) Or the experienced nurses too.

Congrats on the SICU position Hopeful new grad RN!!! That MUST be the BEST feeling ever. Have you been searching for a job for awhile now? Did you have a lot of prior healthcare experience (i.e. CNA, med assistant etc)? How was the interview? Was it with a panel? Sorry so many questions, just wondering!

Yeah, I'm remaining hopeful that I will @ least score an interview. I recently graduated from a BSN program, so I have not had a real "nursing interview" yet hehe. Thanks for all the valuable info! Good luck with the new grad program. If you hear any other inside new grad info, do let us know! :)

Have a wonderful Memorial Day people! SD weather is simply beautiful!!!
