San Diego City College LVN-RN , Spring 2024

Hi All, 

I submitted my application for San Diego City College LVN -RN today. Starting this post to connect with others who are also applying. I am wondering how many points others have applied with. 
 

I believe I applied with 83 points if all of my life experience points count.

Hi!

I applied for the LVN-RN program as well. I think I had around 78-80 points. I was told that we should find out at the latest by October. Waiting to find out is tough so I hope this time flies by!

Hi, 

Yes the wait is quite stressful! I was also told most likely my October, I have already started obsessively checking my email! I just hope that we are notified either way!

I had asked about the stats from previous years and was told that 70s + you have a chance for LVN-RN, I am wondering if w/ the updated multipoint criteria many people will have higher points pushing up that threshold of who they accept. I did also ask about how many applicants they get and they said it is actually much lower for LVN-RN than it is for straight RN program. I was told they get about 30 applications and accept about 15 (It says 10 on the website so I was happy to hear this and hopes is accurate)..... So lets just hope for the best!!

I have done the same checking of email. I'm unsure if it will come to our regular or school email, so I check both. I heard that the cohort that we would join if we got in is smaller, so that may mean more spots for the LVNs. They just have to see how many clinical sites they will have. My application still says not started. I don't know if that means anything. Crossing my fingers for both of us!

I think notifications will probably come to whichever email we got the confirmation that the application was submitted, but I am also checking both. Where are you looking to see that your application saying not started ?

You have to click the requests button on the upper right side of the page.

It says I have no active requests at all, now I am concerned that my application did not get submitted correctly. I mean I did get the confirmation but I am going to reach out to the school tomorrow to make sure. Thanks for the info!

Oh no! I hope it did. Try clicking the little arrow next to status. You can change it to open and closed requests. That is how I saw mine.

I did! They assured me that my application was submitted and it was reflected on their end. They also said that they would notify people in 60-90 days from now! I wrote back for clarification because I was previously told October ....Hopefully sooner than 60-90 but glad I have that info so I don't freak out if I don't have anything by October.

Oh good. I am glad you don't have to worry about that anymore. Maybe the 60-90 days comment was for the regular RN program. Since both of us were told by October, that seems like it would be more accurate.
