I also applied to George Washington, JHU, and Columbia (Im originally from the East coast so these programs would bring me back), and I got into GWU. Between these three schools though, Ill say that SMU and Columbia are my top choices, the programs are different, but still similar as the programs I applied for are "bridge" programs, so I wouldn't need to reapply for my Masters or Doctorate, but still entry level. Aside from being an awesome program and one of the top choices in CA, SMU is just also incredibly convenient for me being that I live in the immediate vicinity haha.
Hi,
I'm studying to take the TEAS test to apply to SMU this July. Does anyone know any good sources to practice for the test? I searched and saw so many sources that I don't know which is good.
Also, I see many people state that they have many hours of working voluntarily in healthcare fields. Is it required?
Thank you.

Hey Hangle,
From my understanding, you should purchase the B and C practice test from the ATI website as they would the best to gage where you are. As for study material there's tons but most people recommend using Mometrix off Amazon. Also good to have Pocket Prep to study on the go as well. There's tons of video on Youtube to help as well such as, McAllister for English and Suzanna for A&P.
It looks like the more experience you have the better the odds you get in so best of luck.
Best of luck!

I applied for Spring 2021, but am currently waitlisted ?!
- Overall GPA: 3.78
- Science GPA: 3.60
- CNA licensed, but no work experience outside of the program
- Hospital Volunteer: 81 hours
- Bilingual (not sure if it matters)
- Working a minimum wage job (not sure if it matters)
- I am still finishing up Microbiology and Developmental Psychology for this Fall semester
- I took the TEAS once, but I am not proud of my score so I will be retaking it!
Good luck to everyone! Wishing the best for all of us! ??
Hi Tiffany,

Hi Hangle!
I forgot to put an update in this thread, but I managed to get off the waitlist! I started attending SMU in January and I'm a part of the December 2022 Cohort now! I see that you're applying to 3 schools and I wish you the best of luck!! :)) I'm not sure if I can help in any way, but feel free to reach out to me anytime if you have any questions.

Thanks for the update Chuck! What is the date of your application submission? I believe they are reviewing according to submission date and I am wondering how far they have gone.
