Hey All,
I couldn't find a thread for Samuel Merritt's FNP and CM programs for Fall 2014 entry, so I thought I would start one.
Who here has submitted applications for either of those programs? Did you apply to one or both of the ELMSN programs? Have you considered the ABSN program as well?
I submitted an app for the CM program, and am eager to hear back in coming months.
Good news, fellow CM applicants--Interview e-mails have started to go out. I got mine around 6pm this evening. If you haven't yet, hopefully you get yours soon as well! I am planning on interviewing on February 26th. Do let us know when you hear back, and when you plan on interviewing.Cheers :-)
Congrats NJann, good luck in your interview!
Hamsterfeet- Thank you, I am very excited!
Lbfb- Thank you, I have my fingers and toes crossed for you
Kapteezy21- Hang tight, it's not over until you officially hear back from them-- based on previous year's nursing threads, it seems like they might do a few rounds of interviews? Good luck!
Stephanie_ncole- Congratulations! Maybe we'll be in the same interview block on 2/26? I plan on watching the CM videos they sent us, and making sure I'm current on healthcare issues. How do you plan to prepare?
I've been reading past forums and CM interviews are different than FNP interviews. They are one on one with a faculty member, they ask questions about current events, discuss your previous coursework and GPA, and have you submit a writing sample at the end. I'll let you know if I find out more info and will clue you all in after I interview.
Good luck to those who have interviews or are still waiting to hear from admissions. I was granted an interview, but have declined due to accepting admissions to my top choice school. I applied for the FNP track. Hopefully this will open up space for anyone interested in this specialty!!

Well , I can't really say what the scenarios were since it would be kind of unfair for other applicants , not to mention that the panel might change the scenarios anyways. But the only thing I can tell you is that don't worry about it, don't stress about it. I think the panel and everyone else can tell when someone is saying what the panel wants to hear (it sounds odd and fake/practiced). As stated by lilfoot, just be yourself, as long as you have relatively good social skills you should be fine. *Hope this helps* :)
