Hey All,

I couldn't find a thread for Samuel Merritt's FNP and CM programs for Fall 2014 entry, so I thought I would start one.

Who here has submitted applications for either of those programs? Did you apply to one or both of the ELMSN programs? Have you considered the ABSN program as well?

I submitted an app for the CM program, and am eager to hear back in coming months.

I applied to FNP. Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of calling but am kind of scared! Anybody else who applied to the FNP program and hasn't heard back yet?

I applied for FNP and I haven't heard anything. At all. No interview, no emails, just silence. I've called twice and emailed twice, neither were answered. At this point, I am taking it as a silent rejection and moving on. I have deposits due at other schools within the next few weeks so I am going to pursue those options.

@droux good for you, at least you've heard back from somewhere. I' m still waiting to hear from all the schools I applied to.

I did interview for the FNP on the 5th of feb (early session) and they told us we would know by the end of Feb or beginning of March.

Anybody else who has interviewed but has not received any emails yet?

@droux, where else did you apply? I could only find 2 entry level FNP programs in northern Ca; Samuel Merritt, and UCSF.

@bluefossil. Yes, that is true for NorCal, not too many choices if you are committed to living only in this area. There are other entry level programs in other parts of California (Cal State LA for example). I applied all over the US. I am from the East Coast originally, so I am fine with moving back there for school.... I can come back to wonderful sunny California afterwards (I actually live in Oakland now, not far from SMU). Good luck to you all! Waiting is the hardest part!

Hi Bronze, thanks for the status list! Put me down for waitlist. It sure seems like they have a long waitlist! I know there are 22 people waitlisted, because I'm number 22 on the WL. :(. Well, its better than a denial. The admission counseor did mention that after the class has formed they may contact some of us on the WL about transferring our file to Sacramento. Thats not so bad.. but I doubt Sac has 22 open spots :-/! It also sounded like all of the admissions decisions are not finished, and they are still completing the class. Good luck to all of you!

BTW, did anyone apply for the ABSN program as well? I know the cohort beginning in April has been notified, but anyone applied for the May start date in Oakland? I'm waiting on a response from them, I think the counselors are getting fed up with all my calls and emails about the decision status, but I keep getting the same response... "no decisions have been made yet". It seems a little strange they would be taking this long, and I was wondering if anyone heard anything in regards to the ABSN (May).

@bluefossil and jennana, maybe it means that they are proceeding by interview group. I sure hope so!
