Hello!

I didn't see a thread for the SMU absn Spring 2021 cohort so I just wanted to start one!

I'm currently in the process of applying right now and working on my personal statements!

Hope you are all staying safe during this crazy time!

Hi Michaels, nothing really happens! Only thing after is whether or not we get in! 

There is a drop-in session tomorrow from 12:30-1:30!

No, it really only means they look at your application.

Btw you mentioned that you applied once before? Which cohort was it if you don't mind me asking? Did you also get a prelim review email for that one?

Hi, did anyone attend the info session yesterday? Was wondering if they shared any helpful information about the application process!

Hello! I did :) most people who attended had not applied get. She mentioned acceptance letters for January 2021 will be sent out mid October. Lmk if you have a specific question you're wondering about

That's all she mentioned about the process. There's not much to kt but waiting

I added two more classes grades and just edited a bit of my personal statement. I didn't add too much. I also added some more experience I did on my resume!

She said 48 per cohort. I am not sure about the applicants they received.

HI starter12345, did you have to get 2 new letters of recommendations when you applied? Or are you able to use the same ones?

Does anyone know if SMU would consider applicants for a previous semester if enough spots open up due to people dropping out before the cohort begins?
I'm asking because I know the Summer cohort for San Mateo got pushed back to November start date, and was wondering if there were possible seats that opened up due to people not wanting to attend because the start date got pushed back? 

I know it sounds like a long shot, but I think it would make sense if there were still open seats and someone willing to start the program earlier, that they'd consider them? But I guess the chances of them having unfilled seats seems pretty low given their long waiting lists... I also checked online and saw that there were only 34 people in the Fb group for Nov San Mateo? It seems like that is a lot of less than the normal # of students?.. anyone have any thoughts on this?

She just said they received “a lot” which is why it’s taking until mid October to figure out who gets in.
