Hello!

I didn't see a thread for the SMU absn Spring 2021 cohort so I just wanted to start one!

I'm currently in the process of applying right now and working on my personal statements!

Hope you are all staying safe during this crazy time!

Does anyone know if SMU ABSN program has a recency requirement of 10 years for prereqs?

I'm not positive, but I don't think they technically do. I think their advice is that the more recently you've taken the class, the better foundation you'll have to start the nursing program. But again, I don't think I've seen a specific recency requirement for ABSN.

Not sure if this was answered already...I think they typically got something like 150 apps for 48 spots, but post covid are getting something in between 150-250.

OK thanks! Yah because I remember e-mailing the admissions department back 3 or 4 years ago, and I don't think they said they had a recency requirement.. just wanted to make sure!

I don't see anything on their site! But I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask. Are you trying to meet the 12/1 deadline? 

Looks like they have an ABSN virtual drop in counseling tomorrow which I'm guessing may be a big crowd!

Has anyone moved up from the San Mateo waitlist? I'm wondering if that usually happens later on..

Nope I haven't received any emails yet ? It looks like Sacramento waitlist has been moving but no word for San Mateo

same here. I wondered if Sacramento waitlist exhausted, will they go to San Mateo waitlist since we got to choose which one we preferred in the application?
