Hello!

I didn't see a thread for the SMU absn Spring 2021 cohort so I just wanted to start one!

I'm currently in the process of applying right now and working on my personal statements!

Hope you are all staying safe during this crazy time!

I’m not sure..I have see on other cohorts it’s been early in the morning but I’m sure it could be whenever they feel like it LOL

Do you email "admissions@smu" or the "admissions.review@smu" email??

Recently I received a couple tips from a former applicant (now recent graduate): "don't bug the admissions office with questions on admissions decisions, and make sure to read any emails thoroughly before sending to the whole admissions department as they don't look favorably on individuals that don't follow directions that are on the website, on the application or in any emails that are sent".

I think I'm going to exercise patience until I get word that decisions are actually going out

Hi everyone. I applied to the regular BSN program and our decision day got moved to November 10th due to all of the applications they received. I was wondering if your deadline got moved back as well? I'm unsure if the same faculty are reviewing both BSN and ABSN? This could possibly explain the extra time they need. I was just curious if anyone knows the specifics

Has anyone who applied for the January 2021 deadline started a new application for the December 2020 deadline for Summer 2021? I’m also anxiously waiting to hear back but I’m worried that if we don’t hear back until November and I wait to apply, that I’ll get behind. I of course would like to apply as early as possible, but this cohort requires the HESI/TEAS and I wouldn’t want to sign up without knowing if I already got in to Spring 2021. Anyone else debating this??

IDK if this will help you but for BSN they told us to go ahead and start on the application for the next cycle. The admissions decisions overlaps/too close to the deadline for next cycle so they recommended we start working on it. They said to register for TEAS or HESI to have a spot secured and then if you find out before hand just cancel the testing date. You would of course have to look into if they would issue you a refund or not..

Yes, I feel the same way but the only thing we can do now unfortunately is to plan ahead and be patient. I already started my application for the Dec. 1st deadline for Summer '21 that way I don't feel rushed when we hear back from admissions.

Do you guys think checking the admitted portal is worth a try? A majority of the Summer 2020 cohort found out the decision that way. I don't want to call and bother the admissions committee LOL

How do you get access to that? I thought we don’t have access until accepted?
