Samuel Merritt University ABSN Fall 2017

Published

Hello all! I am new to Allnurses and I recently decided to change my academic career path from biomedical engineering to nursing. I am (hopefully) going to graduate from San Jose State University in May 2017. I was wondering if anyone has applied/ got accepted to Samuel Merritt's Accelerated BSN program? I was wondering if it's a hard school to get into? I am hoping to apply for Fall 2017. My engineering GPA is not that great but I already took the TEAS and did pretty well on that; I also need to complete Micro, A&P, Nutrition, and a couple other nursing pre-reqs.

Congrats on graduating to you too! :) We are in this together- I have faith for all of us!

I'm going to be open here, because I'm curious and my comment could possibly help others! I was just placed as #9 on the wait list; and I'm hoping there is movement. I'm crossing my fingers for others who are on the wait list or are still waiting for their app decision. Has anyone heard about people being accepted from the wait list? I'm going to check on the previous cohort forum pages :)

Hi! I also just got an email that I was placed number 9 on the wait list.. what did you put as your first choice?

Hi ! My first choice was San Mateo; was yours Sac?

Hello! I was just informed of being #21 on the waitlist! Remaining hopeful and grateful to have made it this far. Wishing I had a crystal ball to know how many people plan to decline their offers!

Hi all! I've been following this thread for a bit and pulled my application because I started the entry level MSN at USF this summer. If anyone has any questions about that program feel free to reach out. I was waitlisted there and ended up getting in, so don't give up hope to any of you on the waitlist! Good luck to everyone!

My first choice was San Mateo too.. I'm wondering if it's a general waitlist for both combined or what. My email didn't say if the waitlist was for San Mateo or Sacramento because I put Sacramento as my second choice

I also put Sac as my second choice... hm that's strange. Maybe the wait lists #s were actively changing when they emailed us

From what I see in the forums, it sounds like there is lots of movement on the wait list! :)

Hi! Is anyone on the wait list willing to share their stats? Thank you in advance! :)

I can't get over that you both were told you were #9!!!

If people were notified at the end of May and Mid June, they've already had 10 days to accept or decline. I'm curious if they know how many spots are still open and when they plan on notifying the waitlist!!! Is it every time we move up a spot? or every week?

I know, it makes me feel unsettled! I don't know if it's a wait list overall or for each cohort! I wish that they would tell us every time we move up a spot, but it sounds like they are planning on telling us only if a spot opens up for us. And I know, I thought of the 10 day thing.....
