I am a prospective student for Samuel Merritt University for the cohort starting in Spring 2014. Campus of choice is San Mateo. I am considering the ELMSN-NP program as well since the prereqs are identical.
1. I was seeking information on TEAS test experience. What is the cut off for this test to get in? I have to take this test within the next few weeks in order to make the July 1st cutoff application. (I wanted to take this test after I finished my prereqs which will be completed by Sept 14th) Currently I am finishing up A&P I lecture/lab and Nutrition courses within the next 2 weeks, also currently taking Microbiology lecture/lab which will be complete by Aug 24th and signed up for A&P II lecture lab, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology courses starting at the end of June and ending Sept 14th 2014 to make me 100% complete. I am currently making an A in all the courses attempting now. I have an undergrad gpa of 3.1 and science gpa of 3.5
I am currently on the east coast and have been serving in the military for 6 years. I lived in Orange County prior to joining for 6 months and have visited California numerous times and loved every second of it so I know this is where I want to end up, hence is why I am applying for programs out there.
I also wanted to know about anyones experience in previous cohorts at any of the campuses for both ABSN and ELMSN programs.
If anyone else is applying for Spring 2014 please respond to this thread as well that way we can get to know each other somewhat and give a chance to those that get accepted to start networking. Wish everyone the best of luck!!

Hi runeth -
SMU looks at your overall adjusted TEAS score, and especially Math and English. While, Science is an integral/important aspect - if it's not your highest among all the scores (though passing) you should be fine. SMU looks at "all" of your qualificatins - not just TEAS or grades. How were your essays? Did you volunteer? Also, if you received great letters of recommendation these will help also. SMU picks a variety of folks with unique qualities and some similar to other students. If you've shown your determination, compassion and integrity for working in the nursing field you will likely be accepted. :)
Hello-
I am new to this thread and I see that many of you are applying to the ELMSN-NP program. I wondered, if there were any CM applicants on this thread. If so, please let me know. I have a scheduled interview for next Wednesday (9/9) for the Spring 2014 cohort...and, I was hoping to share thoughts and notes on expectations of interview.
Thanks so much...and, good luck to all!! :)
Oops...I was mistaken. My interview date is actually for Wednesday (9/11) for ELMSN-CM to start in Spring 2014. Please let me know if there is anyone else doing this tract. Or, if any FNP applicants can give my any advise for the interview process.Thank you so much!
Try searching the forum, I think there's an old case management thread w/ info in it
Yes...thank you. I found an old thread for 2013, but was hoping to touch bases w/2014 applicants. Was wondering how many will be interviewing and if this is the first pool of interviews for CM Spring 2014 (Sacramento). Have you heard anything, or, know anything about it? I'm feeling excited, but am nervous as well. Would like any and all advise or feedback. Anyway...good luck to you on your submission, and thank you for your response.

No, they only look at your TEAS reading score. Nothing else.
