Samuel Merritt University ABSN / ELMSN Spring 2014

I am a prospective student for Samuel Merritt University for the cohort starting in Spring 2014. Campus of choice is San Mateo. I am considering the ELMSN-NP program as well since the prereqs are identical.

1. I was seeking information on TEAS test experience. What is the cut off for this test to get in? I have to take this test within the next few weeks in order to make the July 1st cutoff application. (I wanted to take this test after I finished my prereqs which will be completed by Sept 14th) Currently I am finishing up A&P I lecture/lab and Nutrition courses within the next 2 weeks, also currently taking Microbiology lecture/lab which will be complete by Aug 24th and signed up for A&P II lecture lab, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology courses starting at the end of June and ending Sept 14th 2014 to make me 100% complete. I am currently making an A in all the courses attempting now. I have an undergrad gpa of 3.1 and science gpa of 3.5

I am currently on the east coast and have been serving in the military for 6 years. I lived in Orange County prior to joining for 6 months and have visited California numerous times and loved every second of it so I know this is where I want to end up, hence is why I am applying for programs out there.

I also wanted to know about anyones experience in previous cohorts at any of the campuses for both ABSN and ELMSN programs.

If anyone else is applying for Spring 2014 please respond to this thread as well that way we can get to know each other somewhat and give a chance to those that get accepted to start networking. Wish everyone the best of luck!!

I think their aren't that many applicants for fnp in this cohort.

how do you know there isnt many applicants in this cohort? Also when did you hear you had an invite for an interview?

For those that I met at the interview, today- it was awesome meeting all of you! I really hope we see each other again soon! It was a great experience and there really is an emphasis on just being yourself! Good luck to everyone!

Hey Gokings! It was nice meeting you and all the other applicants the other day! FYI for the others, it's a group style interview meaning a panel of 3 interviews you and a group of applicants. There are were lots of team building exercises. It was more relaxing setting that a 1-1 interview. It was great to hear how other people approach healthcare issues. Good luck to everyone!!

I am new to this thread and I see that many of you are applying to the ELMSN-NP program. I wondered, if there were any CM applicants on this thread. If so, please let me know. I have a scheduled interview for next Wednesday (9/9) for the Spring 2014 cohort...and, I was hoping to share thoughts and notes on expectations of interview.
