Congrats Sahar! Hopefully I will be on the admit list soon too.
I'm kind of worried that I didn't do my best in the interview, especially since everyone seemed really great. It's early in the process though, so I guess I shouldn't stress too much.

You did great blue eyed guy, It was a group setting so everyone got a chance to speak up. And i think that everyones personality shined through. Your application itself seems to be a stronger factor, because everyone did great in teh interview. :up: :yeah:

Thanks K! I am worried because I haven't been receiving any of these e-mails people are talking about - and most of all I would like an e-mail for an interview :) So much anxiousness! I love reading all the posts on here though. Hope your GPA gets calculated soon!!

Hi Sarah,

I'm glad you mentioned that. It could be a problem on SMU's end, but it also could be spam filters either through your email provider or through the email application you use. Just in case, make sure to whitelist the domain "samuelmerritt.edu" through your email provider and also within the program you're using. Also make sure to check your junk mail or bulk mail files.

If you need me to walk you through contacting your email administrator or anything else, I'm more than happy to do so. Just PM me with your contact info!

Thanks guys. And there are like 10-12 ppl in the interviews. Looks like 60-75 are being interviewed, and she said thier was approx. 150 applicants, but that was the same as last year, so im sure there was prob more or less this year.

congratulations to all.

I have a question for those that got accepted:

1.did you guys get into the FNP program?

2. when did you submit your applicatons?

3. did they notify you when they received your applications?

I submitted my application early in december, and haven't heard anything since. I am getting a bit anxious and just want to know my status

hi !!!

1) i got in to FNP

2) i submitted it in obtober-ish i think, The deadline was oct 1st or nov 1st for the NursingCAS

3)i was notiifed in jan that they are reviewing it. and got called for interview in feb. was notifed of early acceptance the next day

Thanks Katie. I have gmail and I have been e-mailing **** throughout my application process and most recently ******, and I get e-mails from them (domain samuelmerritt.edu) with no problem. Nothing in junk mail either. I'm going to wait another couple weeks and if I haven't heard anything from Samuel Merritt, I will call or e-mail them. Thanks!

Got it -- thanks for the detail. Yeah, gmail will automatically whitelist domains that are sent from the email account. I'm going to be following the same gameplan. I might try them early next week, so regardless, I'll let you know what I find out! :)

Hello,

I still haven't heard anything from Samuel Merritt regarding an interview or denial of getting one. The deadline for ELMSN-FNP for 2011 should have been January 15th. Someone who got into the program posted earlier on this thread that it was in Oct. or Nov. I don't think this was correct. I submitted on Jan. 15th via NursingCAS as the SMU website states. Was that date seriously wrong?????

Also, it never stated on the website that people who submit their application early get priority. If I had known this, I would have submitted long before Jan. 15th.

The deadline was indeed on January 15th. I don't know why it was stated as Oct. or Nov. 1st earlier. They didn't say that those that applied earlier get priority, I don't think that is the case. But with the NursingCAS system, there are a lot of limitations because of their processing time and etc...which is why they chose to stop using NursingCAS after this round of applications...it just caused to many problems. I think the reason why people who submitted their application earlier got contacted for interviews earlier because SMU just saw their applications first, and they do need to get going on the interview process because if they waited for everything to be processed by NursingCAS, I believe a lot of us wouldn't hear anything for a very long time.

A lot of us are in the same boat as you, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. They will see our applications and whether or not we get an interview we'll know from there. I also am not sure if they actually contact you if you don't get an interview, so it's either you get an email or call about an interview or you don't.

I am still patiently waiting. I hope a handful of us gets contacted this week for an interview! Good luck!!

CORRECTION !!!!!! I made a mistake, oct was for western university. smu was jan 15th. A email should have been sent to let students know that theyre app is being reviewed. If not, I would reccomend contacting Karena.
