Samuel Merritt ELMSN FNP Spring 2018

Hey, first post here! Just wanted to see if anybody else has applied to Samuel Merritt's ELMSN FNP for January 2018. I will be submitting my app within the next few days, and can't wait to hear back from them. Anybody else applying to this cohort? What did your stats look like when you applied? I have a 3.7 last 60 unit and 3.7 science GPA, my overall HESI was a 94% and I have 6 years as an ER tech and 6 years pre-hospital as an EMT and paramedic. Thanks in advance for any help/tips!

It was great meeting some of you (and good luck to interviews tomorrow)!!! I hope the best for all of us :)

It was great meeting everyone 9/28 @ 4pm! I'm assuming interviews are done by now. Whewww. Did not expect that at all! I wasn't nervous during the tasks but when we were done, I was like.....what did we just go through?? What is even the criteria for that type of interview? Lol. I thought at least they would ask us some questions afterward. I talked to some friends who applied to PA schools and nursing schools, and they have never heard of this style of interviewing. They thought at least there would be a mix of collaboration and interview questions.

I guess I can see some value to this, because it's very much "show" rather than "tell" ...but I would be lying if I said it didn't throw me off and made me super anxious AFTER the fact.

Well, I guess this is good experience for the next time I interview with Samuel Merritt loll (hopefully).

Does anyone happen to know how long their waitlists usually are? I think everyone did well, which is why I don't even know how they would choose the 24 people!

Anyway, just wanted to wish everyone good luck!

We were at the same interview! I just don't know who you were. lol Regardless of the outcome this was definitely a good learning experience. If I have to interview again, I will be ready for this type of interview as well. Hopefully we get in though! I asked questions about the waitlist but not how long it is.

Hey everybody! I am not sure if anybody else received any emails today, but I received something from SMU financial aid office requesting my FAFSA... I have not heard anything from the program of acceptance, denial or waitlist, so I am sort of confused (yet sort of hoping this is a good sign). Has anybody else heard anything or received any emails?

That is good to know! Thanks! That could be really misinterpreted, especially right after the interview to receive that kind of email. Crossing my fingers that they wanted it for a reason!!!

Hello, I received an email about submitting my FAFSA 3 weeks after I submitted my application and again today. I am also hopeful it's being requested for a reason! :)

I didn't receive an email after I submitted my application (I think) or recently. I did fill out FAFSA 2017-2018 though (and I listed SM as one of the schools bc I was being optimistic lol). Which one did you guys fill out? 2017-2018 or 2018-2019?

Yes, you're right, it's good to look at the positive. For me, I took awhile to get to this point, and I'm 29 so it would just be a huge relief for me to not have to reapply. It's not fun when half of my friends keep telling me to just give up and find another career :/

Hey I was at the 4:00pm interview on the 27th.

I received a FAFSA email yesterday on the 30th.

Did anyone not receive the FAFSA email yesterday? I spoke to an old classmate who is applying to the absn program and said he didn't get an email.
