Samuel Merritt ELMSN, FNP program, Fall 2016 Oakland

I didn't see a thread for the Fall 2016 ELMSN, FNP program. I recently applied to Samuel Merritt's ELMSN, FNP program in Oakland, CA. Has any one else applied? Any graduates have any feedback? I'm really excited about Samuel Merritt's Family Nurse Practitioner program. I'd really like to pursue primary and mental health. With that, I think a focus on FNP first would help.

Has anyone else received an invitation for an interview? Or any information from SMU regarding admissions?

Nope. Still waiting!!! I applied to three SMU programs: ELMSN-CM, ELMSN-FNP, and ABSN. The waiting is killing me lol I wonder what the order is for making these phone calls.

I know, the waiting is excruciating! I was just wondering if anybody else had heard anything from SMU. I'm glad I'm not the only one who hasn't heard anything. I was surprised to hear that the people who received interviews received phone calls because last year, the invitations for interviews were sent via email. I applied to the ELMSN-FNP and the ABSN programs at SMU. I hope we hear something soon.

Oh was it via email last year? Oh okay. Well since the other two applicants who were invited for interview were told they'd receive an email on Friday, maybe we all will? Lol #wishfulthinking . Good luck to you though! Hopefully we all hear soon!

I just got a call from SMU, guys! [emoji4] I'll be interviewing at 3 PM on the 11th - anyone else? Also, how weird is it that they called at 8 PM?!

I also just received a call at 820 pm!!! Unfortunately I'm out of town on the 11th.... I was going to do 3 pm but I forgot I'm scheduled to go to Chicago for another MSN interview! Boo!!! She's gonna call me tomorrow when she's at work to schedule either on the 10th or 17th! Looks like they're calling from home and trying to schedule everyone by working until late. Standby your phone everyone!

That's awesome, congrats! Ha that is super weird that they are calling this late in the day. Hopefully they are still making more calls tonight/tomorrow! :unsure: This is so nerve racking!

From the looks of it sounds like they are. She told me that currently she's just working with the feb 11 date and that there is more to be scheduled for feb 17/18

Yes I know!!! I'm a little stressed out because I have Rush University Interview on Feb 12/13 and then USD on Feb 18/19. So i'm really hoping Samuel Merritt offers me a date for interview that I can do which is only Feb 10 or Feb 17. I will update you all tomorrow once they call and I get it all scheduled.

When the lady called me, she clearly stated it was the ELMSN-FNP program she was setting interviews up for. I can double check tomorrow when she calls me back to schedule my interview and let you know though. I also applied for the CM program too, but from past cohorts, the interviews were separate. Group interviews for FNP and individual interviews for CM I believe? I will see what I can get out of her and update everyone on here =)
