Hi,
I also applied for Fall 2016. This waiting part is going to the be hardest! Lol That's awesome you want to go into mental health. I was thinking about of emergency medicine but I don't know if I can work in the ER with just a FNP license or if I'll have to go back to school, so we'll see...
Hi.
Congratulations on getting everything in for the application! That's a good question regarding working in the ER with a FNP license. Not sure.
I think SMU starts reviewing applications in Dec. to then send off to faculty. Hopefully, we'll hear by Feb. for interviews! Let's keep each other posted.
Hey guys! Would any of you mind sharing your gpa's? I am thinking of applying to this program next year but my cum. gpa will probably be fairly low (around 3.3). I wasn't sure if this was too low. My prereq gpa is much higher.
For your cum. gpa, I think they only take the most recent 60 units. This works to my advantage because I did horrible my freshmen and sophomore year. Luckily, as I got older, I saw the importance of education and (can't live off mommy and daddy forever) so I really pushed myself junior and senior year.

My cumulative is a whopping 3.46 gpa. My prerequisite gpa is 3.57. My last 60 unit gpa is 3.96. TEAS was an 89.3% (88.1 Reading, 96.7 Math, 87.5 Science, and 90 English). Hope this helps!
Has anyone received any updates from SMU admissions regarding the program yet? The waiting is killing me!!!!

Hello,
I didn't see a thread for the Fall 2016 ELMSN, FNP program. I recently applied to Samuel Merritt's ELMSN, FNP program in Oakland, CA. Has any one else applied? Any graduates have any feedback? I'm really excited about Samuel Merritt's Family Nurse Practitioner program. I'd really like to pursue primary and mental health. With that, I think a focus on FNP first would help.
