Hello fellow applicants, alumni, and SMU associates,

Can anyone provide insight into the application timeline for SMU's ELMSN-FNP program intended to start Fall 2020 (Oakland cohort)? The deadline to submit applications through NursingCAS was December 1, 2019.

-When should we expect correspondence to interview or for denial?

-Are interviews 1:1 or mixed, or both?

-When do final acceptances usually go out?

Never mind!!! Just saw it says now that this portal is for admitted students only. Do not try to access this until you’ve been invited to do so! Or something along those lines. It must have changed in the last hour or two...

And there was no change before... it said your app is still being reviewed

Does anyone know if a letter for an interview means acceptance to the program? if not, What would be the standard for a good interview?

Unfortunately, it does not mean acceptance to the program. I think the answer to this question is quite difficult, since interviews are held in a group setting. In my experience, everyone I interviewed with seemed more than capable to excel in the program... I think at the end of the day, they just want to make sure you are personable, collaborative, and ready to take on their program!

For anyone who is still waiting for an interview invite, I emailed Anne and she said she doesn't believe they finished sending out all notifications. Hope this help ease a bit of the anxiety.

Hi all! ?

It's my first time posting on here but I just got an interview invite today and will be going Mon 3/2 at 2:30pm. Pretty nervous, I feel like they don't give much time to prepare for the interview. But I'm grateful for the opportunity. Anyone else joining that day?

Does anyone have any tips on how to prepare for the interview?

Ah thank you for the update! I am anxiously waiting to hear back as well. I hope we get some good news soon! Congrats to everyone who received an interview invite already!
